Beşiktaş gave away what looked like an extremely promising start in the match against Bodø/Glimt after Gedson Fernandes had put the Black Eagles 1-0 up, thanks to an excellent assist from Bahtiyar Zaynutdinov. The Eagles looked solid for 35 minutes, but following an error from Ersin and Musrati leading to the equalizer, the second goal came too quick for the team to rebound. Chances were had in the second half, but Beşiktaş never restored the balance from the first 35 minutes. Beşiktaş have finally made an end to their 5 game winless streak in the Turkish Süper Lig and they've done so in a crucial derby match against rivals Fenerbahçe! A 73th minute Oxlade-Chamberlain that seemingly wasn't touched by anyone and trailed in to the goal was the only thing to sepperate the two Istanbul giants on Saturday! Both sides had some chances, but ultimately it was a relatively tame match with a lot of physicality but without spectacular football. Gedson Fernandes was wrongfully dismissed right at the end with a second yellow after a clean steal, but the Black Eagles managed to hold on to secure the 3 points! Beşiktaş have once again been defeated in the month of November, this time in disgraceful fashion in Hungary in what supposed to be a home game against Maccabi Tel-Aviv. The Black Eagles have lost 4 of their last 5 matches and are now in a very precarious position in the Europa League aswell, a win would have most likely secured qualification to the next round, but now advancing seems nearly impossible. Not alone did the Black Eagles lose, they also played poor football in particular in the frist half. Should Giovanni van Bronckhorst be sacked? Many fans believed that he should at least get until the end of the season, but it seems the team's performance is only getting worse every game. The Black Eagles suffered a painful 2-4 home loss at the hands of Göztepe, despite the fact that they found themselves 2-0 up after just 10 minutes. It was an extremely vital win for the Black Eagles, an absolute must win match that has now put them right in to contention for a top 24 spot in the league stages of the Europa League.
