    Football at Any Cost

    How far would you go to get some uninterrupted football time? One Virginia man is accused of taking that idea way too far. Terry Ward, 64, faces felony abduction and misdemeanor assault charges after police say his wife was allegedly taped to a chair in the basement while he watched football upstairs. The woman reportedly told police she was restrained for 30 to 45 minutes, and officers documented marks and tape residue on her arms. Ward allegedly admitted to tying her to the chair. The story has generated plenty of jokes online, but beneath the bizarre circumstances is a serious allegation of domestic violence and unlawful restraint. On this episode of The Ebone Zone, we take a look at the strange story, the allegations behind it, and the question of where the line between wanting some peace and committing a crime actually falls.     An Argument That Went One Word Too Far

    A long wait in line turned into a confrontation that allegedly went far beyond an argument. On this episode of The Ebone Zone, Ethan takes a look at the bizarre chain of events at a store in Waldorf, Maryland, where 38-year-old Tiffany Deshaunta Booze is accused of punching an employee after becoming upset over the wait. According to investigators, the confrontation briefly turned physical before Booze left the store—only to return moments later and allegedly display a handgun. The strangest part? Investigators say she left behind her wallet and cellphone on the store counter, helping authorities identify her. Deputies later located a blue-and-black pistol in her vehicle, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office. From a dispute over a line to an alleged assault and firearm display, this story raises a simple question: how does an ordinary trip to the store escalate this far?     It Started with Passing Gas

    A request to stop passing gas in bed somehow became the starting point for a Florida domestic-violence case. In this episode, we take a closer look at the case of 32-year-old Anthony Gordon, who is accused of strangling his 45-year-old girlfriend during an argument at their home. According to the arrest affidavit, the dispute began after she asked him not to fart in bed. Police say the confrontation escalated after she spit at Gordon, and that he then grabbed her by the throat and pulled her from the bed. The alleged attack ended when the woman bit Gordon's finger and was able to get away. She later reported the incident to police and provided investigators with a recording of a conversation in which the two discussed what happened.
