The Companions is an actual play Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition campaign (D&D or DnD 5e roleplaying game). A group of adventurers that fall in with each other on what will turn out to be an epic campaign through various kingdoms as they discover information about Malvelous, the Dark Wind, and the threat to all life.

    THACO and Things - S1E7 - The Transmutation of Chickens, and Orcs are an Elf's Best Friend

    THACO and Things - Series 1  Episode 7 –Transmuting Chickens, and Orcs are an Elf’s Best Friend Descending into the Depths, the group encounter foes, foes that become friends (for most), the possibility of the transmutation of chickens and one of their friends loses their head. This podcast is several of us using the original Basic rules from the red box set out in the early 1980's, and the Cyclopedia.  It's great fun to listen to.  It uses the THACO system (To Hit AC zerO) which only two of us had used before, but it has a very definite different feel to the whole system: Elves, Dwarfs and Halflings are Demi Humans and are their own class as well as race, Humans can be Fighters, Magic Users, Clerics or Thieves, and it's very definitely worth a listen.     The Inquisitors - S1E4 - That Bolt Bounced Right Off

    Inquisitor Canon and Paladin Damien continue to investigate heresy, tracking down Herot's wife Betty and son Eric.  They are trying to locate the Yellow Book, find out who else might have been affected or have knowledge of such a heretical object, and destroy it and Guardsman Reef (sadly affected by Yellow Smoke).  In addition, they are investigating "Marranarra", first found by them on the end of Damien's boot...   This episode catches up on what happened in Episode 3, with the ending re-added as it didn't upload correctly previously.  We look forward to getting back into the swing of podcasts now everyone has finished with their holidays, with The Inquisitors of Illem, The Companions and with THACO and Things.   As always, don't hesitate to contact us on Twitter @PaperSwordPod or you can also find us on Instagram.  We love to hear from you.   And, as always, Thanks for listening - Dan.

    THACO and Things - Series 1  Episode 6 –Into the Depths The group further explore the Dark Isle, working their way onwards to undertake their quest of finding out what has happened to the missing bodies taken from their graves.  Return the bodies if they can, or stop them from being able to be raised as undead.  Having slain both the apprentice wizard that tried to charm the Halfling, and the human fighter, they approach the old keep.
