Hosted by singer, radio presenter & producer, Damien Lamar along with his co-host, Blue Franswa, photographer and serial-entrepreneur & songstress, MJbaker.  Taste Test Live features in-depth music discussion, passion-filled opinions, and interviews by creatives, change-makers, exclusive tracks and more. This week, we're joined in the studio with the lovely, new artist and singer-songwriter Kiaya Cash who brought a Taste Test Exclusive. We were the first to share the song ahead of its release! She is a professional vocalist, background singer and music instructor.  Her performances include recent guest appearances at the 2018 Jacksonville Jazz Festival with Ulysses Owens Three and the Jazz Series at the Ben Tucker Pavilion in Georgia. Kiaya is currently the Choral Instructor for the Don’t Miss a Beat organization in their Academy of the Arts program where she has been providing instruction for the last four years. She is featured on numerous albums and is currently working on her debut album with music director Liston Gregory III. “Comes to the Light” is currently available on all digital outlets.     Emcee/Radio Host/ Event Organizer and #Soundbenders, Mas Appeal is a living legend among Northeast Florida’s independent artist’s community.  His accomplishments boast contributions from some of independent music's most sought after Beatmakers and MCs like Willie Evans, Jr., Batsauce, Johnny Quest, Arsun F!st, Midaz, Reach and Mas Appeal's Simple Complexity partner in rhyme, Tough Junkie, just to name a few.  as the host of The Lyricist Hour Podcast and Webcast, a show dedicated to providing exposure for underground and independent Hip-Hop artists, like himself and also as one half of the critically acclaimed Hip-Hop duo, Simple Complexity, with whom he released four albums. He is also the creator and event organizer of Summertime in the City! To add to an already full plate of accomplishments, Mas Appeal is the Creator and Brains behind the "Hip Hop & Hookah" Brand!  He moved to Jacksonville in the early 2000s and has been an ambassador for Hip Hop in the City ever since.  From Podcasting to Promoting, his passion for music fuels his desire to create and host different events in the city!  After opening a mobile hookah company, he quickly tied the two things he loved to do together; Hip Hop & Hookah!  He has been hosting a weekly Hip Hop & Hookah Event since 2013!   On February 21, Hip Hop & Hookah Presents "Going Donus for Dilla" at Spliff’s Gastropub from 6-9 PM!     S3 EP9 Celebrating Black History Month with Dancethropologist Christa Fatoumata Sylla

    Taste Test Live podcast is back! We've returned for the latest pop culture and music entertainment news. To kick off Black History Month, we were joined in the studio with Jacksonville-based African Dance Instructor and culture contributor, Christa Sylla. Christa chimed in on our segment and later shares her personal spiritual journey, dancework, working with a local Afrodance and music movement. This week's "Put This in Your Mouth" topics include: Tribute to honor the legacy of rock hitmaker & songwriter, Chuck Berry airing on PBS on February 29, 2020 People are reportedly upset and very angry at Nicki Minaj for her song lyrics Wendy Williams goes off on Jay-Z for not standing up during Demi Lovato's performance of the National Anthem J. Lo & Shakir's Super Bowl performances were "a concoction of Afro-Beat, Bachata and were a strong variation or copy of African-Colombian dance incorporated that was entertaining and political at the same time Demi Lovato's performance gets compared to that of Whitney Houston About Christa Fatoumata Sylla Christa, or "Fatou" as she is often called on the African Dance Scene is the founder and director of Nan Nkama Pan-African Drum and Dance Ensemble. Christa has been sharing cultural dance with the Jacksonville community for over 15 years and has received notoriety for her warm and passionate personality and energetic, moving choreography. Christa joined the dance faculty at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in 2015 as a World Dance Studies instructor and has taught master classes at DASOTA, Lavilla School of the Arts, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Jacksonville University and more. She has been an instructor/choreographer at Jacksonville Centre of the Arts for over a decade and periodically does master classes for other institutions out of the city. She has traveled internationally for dance exchanges in Guinea, West Africa; Jacmel and Port au Prince, Haiti; and Limon and San Jose, Costa Rica.
