Man Up University Podcast Episode 28 - Deny Yourself

Luke 9:23-25 - Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he 23 must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants 24 to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What 25 good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? What does it mean to “take up your cross?” How about “to deny yourself?” The cross was an instrument of death and here symbolizes the necessity of total commitment—even unto death—on the part of Jesus’ disciples. Cross bearing includes a willingness to suffer and die for the LORD’s sake. Today that means being willing to publicly identify with Jesus, to experience almost certain opposition (some obvious, some hidden), and be committed to face possible ridicule, suffering, and even death for his sake. https://manupuniversity.org https://facebook.com/TheManUpUniversity https://instagram.com/man_up_university https://twitter.com/umanupu

Man Up University Podcast Episode 27 Beware False Teaching

Matthew 16:6 - “Be careful,” Jesus said to them. “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Matthew 16:11-12 - How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you 11 about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against 12 the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees. https://manupuniversity.org https://facebook.com/TheManUpUniversity https://instagram.com/man_up_university https://twitter.com/umanupu

Man Up University Podcast Episode 26 - Honor Your Parents

Honor your parents Matthew 15:4 - For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’ Was this a new command of Jesus? No; this was one of the original 10 commandments. Exodus 20:12 - Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Deut. 5:16 - Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 21:17 - Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death. Leviticus 20:9 - If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head. https://manupuniversity.org http://facebook.com/TheManUpUniversity http://instagram.com/man_up_university http://twitter.com/umanupu

Man Up University Podcast Episode 25 - Listen to God's Voice

Matthew 11:15 – He who has ears, let him hear. (Repeated nearly verbatim in Matthew 13:9, 13:43, Mark 4:23, and Luke 14:35) 'Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear. ' 'If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." And he said to them, "Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. ' Mark 4:23-24 'It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear." ' Luke 14:35 'And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am! Send me." And he said, "Go, and say to this people: "'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.'' Isaiah 6:8-9 1 Kings 19:11-13 – The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the 11 presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake 12 came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.* When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out 13 and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” https://manupuniversity.org http://facebook.com/TheManUpUniversity http://twitter.com/umanupu http://instagram.com/man_up_university
