    Joey Melfi -- Thousand Islands guard

    S1 E8 -- With few players returning from last season, the Thousand Islands boys basketball team turned to sophomore Joey Melfi to lead the unexperienced squad. As a result, Melfi is averaging 26 points per game and has turned into one of most effective players in the Frontier League. Joey and I discuss his new role on the 2018-19 Vikings and how his team is bouncing back from a 1-5 start to the season. (Music: "Marching Band Live!" by Steve Combs).

    Jackie Piddock -- South Jefferson point guard

    S1 E7 -- Only a freshman, Jackie Piddock has established herself as one of the best girls basketball players in the Frontier League and in Section 3.     Tanner Colvard -- Indian River defensive end

    S1E6 -- Indian River defensive end Tanner Colvard breaks down how the technique and skill that goes into being an effective defensive end. While his 6-foot-2, 220 pound frame help him immensely, he's had to constantly put in work to become a top d-lineman on a 9-0 Indian River team.

    Isaac Lyndaker -- Lowville running back

    S1E5 -- As the lead running back of the undefeated Lowville Red Raiders, Isaac Lyndaker is averaging 8.4 yards per carry in his junior season. Lyndaker and I discuss how he became an every down back and we preview the Red Raiders' upcoming game with General Brown.

    Jake Heller -- General Brown quarterback

    Varsity Spotlight S1 E4: Quarterbacking one of Section 3's most dominant offenses has been Jake Heller. In his first year as a starter at the position, Heller has thrown for 497 passing yards and eight touchdowns in four games. Combine that with his 333 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns and it's easy to see how great of a season he is having. On this episode of Varsity Spotlight we discussed the amount of work he did to have such a good start to the season and the everyday work that goes into preparing for the next opponent.

    Kamryn Barnes -- LaFargeville striker

    Varsity Spotlight S1 E3: LaFargeville striker, Kamryn Barnes, leads one of the most dominant girls soccer teams in the Frontier League. Through six games the junior already has 15 goals and seven assists, and has established herself as one of the best players in the league. We discussed her competitive nature, her dedication to getting better and her talents not only as a soccer player but as a hockey player as well.

    Colin Noftsier -- Beaver River running back

    Varsity Spotlight S1 E2: Coming off a game where he ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns, Beaver River running back Colin Noftsier explains how he can build off of his performance ahead of week two's game against Sandy Creek. Noftsier also explains how the football culture in the community has help lead to one of Beaver River's largest rosters.
