    Jake Brown Goes NUCLEAR! 3 HR Night Leads LSU 15–4 Rout

    LSU got exactly what it needed Friday night — a palate cleanser. After dropping two straight games, the Tigers erupted for a 15-4 run-rule win over Sacramento State at Alex Box Stadium. The offense exploded for six home runs, led by a monster night from Jake Brown, who launched three homers and drove in six runs to match his entire home run total from last season. Derek Curiel and Steven Milam also stayed hot at the plate as LSU’s veteran core delivered the type of offensive performance the Tigers had been searching for after a frustrating midweek loss. On the mound, Casan Evans turned in his best outing of the season. The sophomore right-hander was perfect through five innings, struck out nine, touched 99 mph, and didn’t issue a walk while showing excellent command of his fastball and changeup.     LSU’s Slump Gets Worse: Cajuns Beat Tigers 7-2 in Lafayette

    LSU’s slump deepened Wednesday night in Lafayette. The Tigers were outplayed from start to finish in a 7-2 loss to Louisiana as defensive miscues and a quiet offense continued to plague Jay Johnson’s club. LSU committed three more errors—bringing the total to seven over the last two games—and struck out 11 times while failing to deliver a hit with runners in scoring position. Trent Caraway provided the lone big swing with a two-run homer, while Derek Curiel (3-for-3, BB) and Jake Brown (2-for-4) were among the few Tigers consistently finding the barrel. But LSU couldn’t generate enough hard contact across the lineup and never mounted a serious rally after the Cajuns answered Caraway’s blast with another crooked number.
