    The Anxious Poeta Review

In this episode of The Get To Know Me Podcast, I’m switching things up with a review of Gaby Moreno, aka 7 Octoberz, and her creative project, The Anxious Poeta. I take a closer look at her EP, while also discussing the accompanying book, and share my personal thoughts on the vulnerability, storytelling, spoken-word style, cultural representation, and relatability throughout the project. From “Purépecha” and its celebration of Gaby’s cultural identity, to the deeply vulnerable “Wounded Bird,” the introspective “Endless Thoughts,” the empowering “Una Estrella,” the jazzy energy of “Jazziety,” the heartfelt “Mom’s Interlude,” and the title track “The Anxious Poeta,” I break down what stood out to me and why this project connected with me personally. Having interviewed Gaby before and spent time learning about her culture, family, creativity, and experiences, this review also comes from the perspective of someone who has gotten to know the artist behind the art. We talk about anxiety, self-worth, boundaries, identity, creativity, family, loss, and learning to embrace who you are, while celebrating an artist whose spoken-word and rap style deserves more attention. 📖 Get the book:The Anxious Poeta on Amazon 🎧 Download The Anxious Poeta EP:7 Octoberz Official Website 📱 Follow 7 Octoberz on Instagram:@7octoberz on Instagram Listen to the review and get to know the artist behind The Anxious Poeta.

    The Benefits of Gratitude

In this surprise pop up episode of The Get To Know Me Podcast, Bizzy Balboa takes a moment to say thank you to everyone who has supported Lament of the Phoenix and opens up about what this project means to her. Bizzy reflects on where she currently stands with creating music, why her personal life has become a greater focus, and why her artistic journey will always remain a meaningful part of who she is. She also discusses taking a different approach to promoting this project, admitting that while Lament of the Phoenix may not be her most recognized body of work, she believes it is her best work to date. The conversation is ultimately about gratitude, purpose, making a positive impact, and appreciating the journey rather than simply chasing recognition. Bizzy also talks about her enduring love for podcasting and why, even without the time to commit to it full-time like she once did, she could never truly walk away from The Get To Know Me Podcast. If you haven't streamed Lament of the Phoenix, this is your sign to press play. And if you have, stream it again. Then come listen as Bizzy shares what this chapter means to her, both as an artist and as a person.

    Season 7 Episode 185: “You Can’t Be Serious…”

In this fiery episode of Get To Know Me Podcast, Bizzy Balboa is not holding back. Episode 185 kicks off with a passionate call-out to Timbaland for exploiting up-and-coming artists through paid Instagram Live reviews, only to pivot into launching an AI record label featuring a digital artist. Bizzy dives deep into the hypocrisy and the dangerous line being crossed in the music industry. Next up, she gives her honest take on Tha Carter VI by Lil Wayne — the bars, the beats, the growth (or lack thereof). Is it a classic or just a cash grab? You’ll get her unfiltered rating. Then it's lights, camera, pressure as Bizzy unpacks Tyler Perry’s new film Straw starring Taraji P. Henson, Teyana Taylor, and others. She shares her thoughts on the performances, storytelling, and whether or not it’s a win for the culture. Rounding out the episode, Bizzy shifts gears and gets real about the escalating attacks on immigrants in America. She stresses the urgency of solidarity, unity, and the power of community in a time of division and distraction. This episode is raw, bold, and full of perspective. Season 7 Episode 184: Be Careful What You Ask For

Bizzy Balboa is back and poppin off Season 7 of the Get To Know Me Podcast with a bold new twist. Episode 184 marks a shift in the way Bizzy is showing up behind the mic — blending her signature real talk on music, art, healing, and life lessons with her unfiltered takes on what’s going on in the world. In this episode, Bizzy breaks away from the usual interview-heavy format to tap into something deeper and more personal: opinion, perspective, and purpose. She kicks things off with a candid reflection on celebrity culture, using the public breakups of Remy Ma & Papoose and Cardi B & Offset as case studies to remind listeners: celebrities are not gods. Bizzy challenges the idolization of public figures and calls for people to stop putting fame on a pedestal. Also in the mix: a viral clip of rapper BigXthaPlug getting pressed for a photo while gambling sparks a bigger convo — does fame mean forfeiting privacy? Bizzy says no. Just because someone has a spotlight doesn’t mean they owe constant access. The main message of today’s episode? “Be Careful What You Ask For.”Bizzy gets deep on how blessings don’t always come gift-wrapped. Sometimes they show up looking like sacrifice, loss, or hard lessons. She opens up about her own spiritual growth — how she used to think setbacks were punishments, but now sees them as setups for something greater. Whether you're here for the gems, the perspective, or just to vibe with Bizzy’s voice — this episode is the start of a new era.🎙️ Less interviews. More insight. Still 100% Bizzy. {Get To Know Me Podcast - Topics around music, community, history, finances, and more. Every Saturday!
