The NFL season is finally here, and Stefan, Mike, and Eric kick off Week 1 presented by RotoViz by talking about one of the biggest challenges of the early season: figuring out how much we actually know. The guys start by discussing their approach to the first four weeks of the season, including the importance of staying disciplined when there is limited information, being cautious with new situations, and looking for opportunities where preseason research can create an edge. They debate everything from new coaching staffs and quarterbacks to injuries, roster turnover, and teams that may take time to find their footing. From there it's into the Week 1 card. The crew works through a wide variety of matchups across the league, including games involving Chicago, Carolina, New Orleans, Detroit, Miami, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Washington, Green Bay, Minnesota, and the Chargers. Along the way, they discuss offensive changes, quarterback situations, coaching continuity, player usage, defensive matchups, and which teams they believe the market may be overrating or underrating. The hosts then run through three rounds of picks, giving each other the opportunity to tail or fade the plays as they go. The format brings plenty of agreement, disagreement, and a few moments where preseason research and personal team biases collide. After the three rounds, each host selects their favorite play as their official show pick of the week. The group then gets the opportunity to veto any pick they don't believe belongs on the official card, but ultimately lets all three selections stand. Finally, the NFL edition of the Frat Boy Parlay makes its debut. Each host contributes a leg without knowing what the others have selected, with the goal of building a suitably ridiculous but potentially profitable Week 1 parlay.
