Favor that Can be Seen - Pastor Mark Testerman

The central truth of Genesis 39 is that God’s favor is not determined by favorable circumstances, nor can it be removed by rejection, injustice, temptation, or loss. Joseph’s surroundings changed, his garments changed, and his position changed, but the presence of the Lord remained constant. The favor resting upon Joseph was intangible, yet it became unmistakably visible through his faithfulness, integrity, wisdom, and the blessing that flowed through his life. In the same way, believers do not work to earn the Father’s favor; through the finished work of Jesus Christ, we live and serve from the settled assurance that we are already accepted, righteous, and loved in Him. Joseph ultimately points us beyond himself to Jesus Christ, the beloved Son who took the form of a servant and made the Father’s heart visible wherever He went. Jesus is not merely another example of someone upon whom God’s favor rested; He is the perfect revelation of the Father and the source of the grace now living within us. Therefore, uncommon favor is more than receiving something good from God—it is the indwelling life of Christ becoming visible through us, producing fruit in every season and bringing blessing to those around us. Favor that can be seen is not self-promotion or religious performance; it is the outward expression of an inward reality—the life of Jesus flowing through those who know they are already clothed in His righteousness. Following Heaven's Flight Plan - Part 3 - Pastor Mark Testerman

Joseph’s journey from the pit toward Egypt reveals that the turbulence of life does not mean the Father has lost sight of us or abandoned His purpose. Although Joseph’s brothers stripped away the visible evidence of his father’s favor, they could not remove the exceptional grace resting upon his life. What appeared to be rejection, slavery, and separation was being overruled by God as transportation toward the fulfillment of His promise. Joseph’s story teaches us that circumstances may be painful and the evidence before us may be real, but our conclusions about the Father’s heart can still be wrong when we cannot see the whole flight plan. The finished work of Jesus Christ provides the clearest and final revelation of that heart. Just as Joseph, the beloved son, was rejected by his brothers and sold for silver, Jesus was rejected and betrayed—yet the cross transformed humanity’s greatest act of hatred into Heaven’s greatest display of redeeming love. Therefore, believers must not interpret God’s disposition toward them through the bloodstained robe of present circumstances, but through the blood of the Lamb, which forever declares that they are loved, righteous, and secure in Christ. When the fog is thick and the runway cannot be seen, we can trust that Heaven has not lost sight of us: the Father is still watching, the Spirit is still leading, and grace is still carrying us toward the destination He has prepared. What Spiritual Maturity Looks Like - Pastor Valeri Testerman

This sermon explores what spiritual maturity looks like in the life of a believer, using Ephesians 4 as its foundation. Spiritual growth is not an instantaneous achievement but a lifelong process of “learning Christ”—growing in our understanding of who Jesus is, what He has accomplished for us, and how His life is expressed through us. Because Jesus is the true measure of maturity, spiritual growth is demonstrated through steadfast faith, unity within the body of Christ, renewed thinking, and agape love in action. This transformation does not originate in human effort alone, but in our union with Christ and the empowering grace of the indwelling Holy Spirit. The sermon further emphasizes that spiritual maturity becomes visible in the way believers respond to everyday situations. As we cooperate with the Holy Spirit, our attitudes, words, habits, and emotional reactions increasingly reflect the truth, kindness, forgiveness, and grace of Jesus. Maturity does not mean that believers never experience anger, make mistakes, or require correction; rather, it means learning to submit those experiences to the loving influence of the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, we “learn Christ” not through condemnation or religious conformity, but through truth spoken in love, the patient encouragement of other believers, and the faithful Fathering of God—until the Jesus who lives within us can be clearly seen through us.
