How We’re Made Right With God

This message, drawn from Romans chapters 1–3, asks a question we all wrestle with: what’s really gone wrong with the world? Rather than focusing on obvious bad behavior or blaming others, the message explores how our deepest problem often starts with what we love and trust most. We’ll see how exchanging the Creator for what’s created affects our hearts, relationships, and sense of self – and why simply knowing the right things or comparing ourselves to others can’t fix it. The message points us toward a hope that doesn’t come from trying harder, but from the grace that changes us from the inside out.

    The Gospel Truth

This message continues our study of the book of Romans by exploring the heart of the Christian gospel—the announcement that God’s long-promised good news has been fulfilled in Jesus Christ. It looks at how this message challenges every system of power and status, insisting that all people stand on equal ground and are offered grace, not because of what they achieve, but as a free gift. Drawing on ancient promises, personal stories, and the witness of creation, the message invites us to consider what it means to surrender to something bigger than ourselves and to live with a new sense of unity and hope. It’s a timely reflection on finding our place and purpose in a divided world.

    God Is For You

This message walks through Romans 8, facing the reality of suffering without rushing to easy answers. It explores the tension between what we’ve already received from God and what we’re still waiting for, encouraging honest questions and patient hope. Rather than calling pain good, the message shows how God works for our good by shaping us through hardship and anchoring our assurance in the love shown through Jesus. It’s a message for anyone who’s ever wondered where God is in the midst of difficulty and what it means to belong to him.

    No Condemnation. A New Power.

In this message, Matt VanCleave addresses the gap between the person we want to be and the person we sometimes find ourselves being. He explores Romans 8, where Paul shifts from describing our struggle with sin to revealing how transformation actually happens – not through willpower or religious effort, but through the Spirit of God at work in us. Matt explains what it means to live as adopted children of God, loved and accepted before we perform, and how that identity changes everything about how we grow and change. This is a message about where real power for transformation comes from and what it looks like to cooperate with what God is already doing in us.

    Why You Still Struggle

In this message, Matt VanCleave explores one of the most frustrating experiences of being human: knowing what’s right, wanting what’s right, and still struggling to do what’s right. Drawing from Romans 7, he helps us understand why willpower and good intentions aren’t enough to transform us, and why even God’s good law can’t rescue us from ourselves. The message honestly addresses the gap between who we want to be and who we often find ourselves to be, ultimately pointing us toward the only real source of lasting change.

    You're Always Serving Something

In this message, Matt VanCleave examines one of the most uncomfortable ideas in Romans 6 – that we’re all serving something, whether we realize it or not. He explores how the things that promise us freedom can gradually acquire power over us, and why surrendering to God might actually be what sets us free. Through honest questions and everyday examples, Matt helps us look at what our lives are producing and consider whether what we’re serving is giving us life or taking it from us.

You're Not Who You Used to Be

In this message, Matt VanCleave walks through Romans 6:1-14, where Paul makes a startling claim: if you’re in Christ, you’ve already died to sin. But what does that mean when temptation still feels very much alive? This message explores how our identity in Christ isn’t about trying harder to become someone new – it’s about learning to live as the person Jesus has already made us to be. Through the picture of baptism, Paul shows us that real transformation doesn’t start with behavior change, but with recognizing the new identity God has already given us.
