Independence Day: The Charge of the Light Brigade
Evergreen CCO, David Allen Moss, delivers a colorful portrait of a cherished 1854 war-time era poem to our July 4th celebration. Evergreen CEO, Michael DeAloia recites the poem, "I Hear America Singing" by the American poet Walt Whitman, first published in the 1860 edition of his book Leaves of Grass. Though the poem was written on the eve of the Civil War, it presents a vision of America as a harmonious community and brings the true spirit of America to the forefront of our trying times.
Father's Day: A Tribute
This episode of Cheer, we are celebrating Father’s Day by interviewing the experts. We talked to several kids (ages 2-15), who shared their favorite jokes and stories about their dads. From sentimental to goofy, things got a little outta hand! Of course, the kids were hilarious and adorable (let's hope their dads think so too)!

Easter: The Forsaken Merman
Michael DeAloia, Evergreen's CEO and poet-in-residence, does a dramatic reading of of Matthew Arnold's Eastertide poem, "The Forsaken Merman." In this story Margaret (a seemingly human woman) leaves her merman husband and children when she hears a church's Easter bells, drawn to renew her spiritual life through prayer.
St. Patrick's Day: The Story of St. Patrick and the Slithering Snakes
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, one of the biggest drinking holidays, producer Sarah Willgrube brings you a drunk rendition of the story of Ireland's patron saint, St. Patrick and the myth of how he rid Ireland of snakes. CAUTION: Due to the nature of St. Patrick’s Day, this episode may not be suitable for children and contains adult content, so please listen at your discretion.

These podcasts are a great way to get into the holiday spirit. I've been listening to them on the way to work and it starts my day off on the right foot. Great for families, especially kids. My favorite is Olive, The Other Reindeer. The sound effects and music make me feel like I'm on an adventure with Olive. Way to go Evergreen!
