Cthulhu in the Deep South
A young man leaves Massachusetts on a ship bound to harvest ice and deliver it to Charleston. When they encounter an impossible iceberg and haul a mysterious fragment on board events are set in motion that will lead our young hero, and generations after him, on a journey to their horrible destinies on an island off the coast of South Carolina.

I’m a big HP Lovecraft fan and always look forward to people working within the universe and this podcast does a good job with it. I was a little nervous with the last couple of episodes where it appeared to be steering towards the cliff of woke like a lot of modern shows do (the pattern being one or two good seasons then the writing lights itself on fire & plunges over the Cliff of social justice signaling to fellow wealthy academics with success guilt & feigned loathing about Lovecraft’s Woodrow Wilson-era Progressivism aka eugenics/racism). His virtue signaling did not not add much to the story they also didn’t get in the way too much. Still enjoyable Cthulhu material.
Worthwhile but disappointing

I’ve just finished the first season. It started off well, creating an interesting setting and situation, and, of course, there was the looming question of how all the goings on would relate to Cthulhu. I found the recurring discussions on slavery to be out of place and an implausible distraction. The main character is faced with the reality of dealing with creatures from somewhere and somewhen else in space and, rather than trying to learn more about those expanded frontiers, the characters argue about slavery.
Slavery Porn, for White People Nothing More.

This is not a Lovecraft podcast. It is porn for white people with a fetich for slavery tales. Nothing worth seeing or hearing here.
Fascinating Tales!

I live in Savannah, GA and love these Lovecraft stories set in The Low Country! Keep ‘em coming!
