    Deconstruction: Episode 10

Welcome to Episode 10 in our Deconstruction series; our final episode in the series! This episode we are coming full circle!! We are doing an overview of a couple highlights of the series and maybe even a little more digging. I am going to ask some questions that will require you to put on your thinking cap! Will require you to sit down and think and even have you checking your reflection in the mirror – because we always need to check self-first!   If I had to give this episode a title it would be: The aftermath, while many are going through their version of deconstruction God is calling many into His version! – I say this because many will come to the realization that they weren’t leaving HIM, they were leaving the made up version that people presented them with. They were leaving the version that grandma and grandpa told them about that they never got to meet or know for themselves. Many will begin to draw closer to Him because now they get to meet the real version of who He really is. For many your process to heal is finally taken place!  You are finally in agreement that you need to heal because you know that He can’t properly mold you when you have some much baggage attached. Your pain, your mishaps, your hurt, your trauma, your abandonment, your rejection; your refusal to heal because you can just continue to play dress up and cover your wounds with makeup and shiny new toys!   How can He compete with all that if He doesn’t throw a wrench in your path?  What have you learned about yourself through this whole 10-part deconstruction series? Has your outlook changed? Has your mindset changed? Has your thought process changed? Has your perception changed? What was your aha moment? Did you have a fav episode?

    Deconstruction: Episode 9

There have been some interesting decisions taking place lately on social media that I want to start out with because they fit in perfectly with the discussion that this episode is based on. Have you heard about the iced coffee debate – apparently an individual got on the world wide web and said that it is unprofessional to show up to an interview with your hand holding an iced coffee and folks went wild. There are always a list of reasons why people shouldn’t get a job that they are equipped for experience wise and education included.    You got braids or dreads, disqualified   You got on a stylish headwrap – they do exist, disqualified    You don’t have on a business suit, tie, dress socks, dress shoes, disqualified.   You don’t have a fresh haircut, beard, mustache isn’t trimmed, disqualified.   You don’t have on flat shoes or 1-inch heels, disqualified.    You don’t answer the interview questions exactly the way they want to hear them answered, disqualified. Now remember you don’t even know what the questions are going to be until they ask you. Very rarely do you get an interviewer to share the questions with you beforehand to get your answers prepared.   You wear the wrong colors to the interview they are looking for neutral colors, black, brown, navy blue and you wore black with pink pinstripes; how dare you? Disqualified    You didn’t shake their hand the right way. Now remember you are meeting this person for the 1st time, and you don’t know that they don’t like firm handshakes but a little less firm because they suffer from carpal tunnel, disqualified.    You don’t participate in after work festivities, disqualified. Cause how dare you have a life after work and don’t want to bump shoulders with folks that you just spent 8 or more hours with.   You get nervous in interviews and may stumble over your words, disqualified.  You’re an introvert and they only like extroverts on their team, disqualified.

    Deconstruction: Episode 7

Deconstruction from Men! This is not your normal “deconstructing” conversation! As a Christian Counselor, my assignment is always to do deeper; we take the conversation beyond the surface! “You don’t have to be on your back, on your knees to feel loved. You don’t have to lower your standards to have a man “aka” grown boy in your life. It’s always been pushed to neglect yourself as a woman to empower a man aka grown boy to pick himself up. You should push aside what you’ve been called to do to encourage and drive him into greatness! This is male centered behavior and it isn’t a narrative that Kingdom women should be a part of!” “Men who don’t know who they are and whose they are will destroy everything in their path!” Father God, I pray for your daughters that have found themselves drawn away by these type of grown boys in their daily lives and in the churches that they attend. I pray that they look deep within and find themselves again and find what drew them away in the first place and get the counseling and therapeutic help that they need. I pray that their heart is repaired, their vision be restored, their purpose be revived, their passion be renewed and their relationship with you be rejuvenated!   Abba Father, I pray for your sons that have allowed themselves to be drawn away into enemy territory and have taken on his evil ways. I pray that they will find their way back to you, repent, make amends and change from their wicked ways! I pray they become the fathers their children need, find their wife; be a godly husband and obtain the favor that only you can give and fully and completely walk in who you need them to be for their communities, their households and for the church but more importantly, your Kingdom!   In Jesus mighty name, I pray!!

    Deconstruction: Episode 6

Deconstruction from Sisterhood. This is not your normal “deconstructing” conversation! As a Christian Counselor, my assignment is always to do deeper; we take the conversation beyond the surface! Episode 1: was to define this movement that many have found themselves apart of…. Episode 2: highlighting the difference between the Kingdom of God and “Man’s Religion” Episode 3: highlighting the need to deal with self! Episode 4: Opens the door to healing! Episode 5: Goes beyond the surface; to healing the little girl within… By the time we get to Episode 10, the story all comes together… Many are looking at “deconstructing” from a singular lens, when it’s way more layers to pull back… Dr. T is an Ordained Pastor, Licensed Minister, and self-published Christian author of 30 inspirational books.
