"Alive Together With Christ"

This sermon explores the profound theological truths of Ephesians 2, emphasizing that salvation is entirely a result of God's sovereign grace rather than human effort. The preacher highlights the concept of being made alive together with Christ, explaining how believers share in His life and are seated with Him in heavenly places. This doctrine provides assurance for evangelism, as the outcome rests on God's power while the responsibility to preach lies with the believer. The message encourages Christians to find their identity and security not in their own ability to love or perform, but in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Ultimately, the sermon calls listeners to rest in God's unchanging love and to live out their faith through orthodoxy and orthopraxy.

Stand Firm in Grace

The sermon concludes the study of 1 Peter by emphasizing the urgent need for believers to remain spiritually vigilant against the devil, who prowls like a roaring lion seeking to devour their faith. It outlines a defensive posture of spiritual warfare, urging Christians to be sober-minded, watchful, and to resist the adversary by standing firm in their faith rather than engaging in offensive tactics. The message highlights that while Satan is dangerous, he lacks ultimate dominion, whereas God sovereignly restores, confirms, strengthens, and establishes His people through grace. Believers are called to endure temporary suffering with hope, relying on God's power to fortify their faith and persevere until the end. Ultimately, the text declares that standing firm in God's true grace is the foundation for overcoming spiritual attacks and securing eternal glory.

Humility in the Household of God

This sermon explores the essential role of humility as the unifying force that enables the church to endure fiery trials and persecution. Drawing from 1 Peter 5, the text argues that Christ-like humility must characterize both church leaders, who are called to shepherd God's flock without domineering, and the congregation, who are commanded to submit willingly. The central thesis defines humility as recognizing that all aspects of life are stewardships belonging to God rather than personal possessions. By casting anxieties on God and rejecting pride, believers position themselves to receive His grace and find true strength in their shared dependence on Christ.

Rejoicing in Fiery Trials

This sermon addresses the Christian response to suffering by contrasting the instinctive 'Eliphaz reflex' of assuming punishment with the biblical truth that trials serve a refining purpose. Drawing primarily from 1 Peter 4, the message explains that fiery trials are not signs of God's abandonment but evidence of His love, designed to purify faith like gold in a furnace. Believers are exhorted to rejoice in their sufferings because they share in Christ's experiences and look forward to eternal glory. The passage also warns against self-inflicted trouble while encouraging unashamed identification with the name of Jesus amidst worldly persecution. Ultimately, Christians are called to entrust their souls to God as a faithful Creator, finding strength and hope in His sovereign care during difficult times.

Gifts That Glorify God

The sermon exhorts believers to utilize their God-given spiritual gifts for the selfless service of the church, emphasizing that these abilities are manifestations of divine grace rather than personal possessions. Drawing from 1 Peter 4:10-11 and supporting passages in Corinthians and Romans, it distinguishes between speaking and serving gifts while clarifying that all members must rely on Christ's strength rather than their own power. The central message challenges Christians to reject self-centeredness and boasting, instead adopting the role of faithful stewards who manage God's resources for the common good. By focusing on the glory of Jesus Christ and recognizing the manifold nature of God's grace, believers are called to build up the body of Christ in anticipation of His return. Ultimately, the proper use of these gifts serves to magnify God's holiness and demonstrate His love to the world.

The End of All Things is At Hand

The sermon interprets the imminent end of all things not as a cause for panic or withdrawal, but as a catalyst for spiritual alertness and purposeful living. It emphasizes that believers must maintain sober-minded clarity to engage in constant, dependent prayer rather than self-reliance. Furthermore, it exhorts the church to practice strenuous, unconditional love that actively covers the multitude of sins committed among believers. This deliberate forbearance prevents strife and reflects the sacrificial nature of Christ's own love for humanity. Ultimately, the message calls Christians to prioritize these virtues as essential responses to living in the final era of history.
