Meaning of the Music

If I had to guess, I'd say this host is quite young, maybe college undergrad or even below, but clearly a very accomplished student of music. Her keen thoughts on the music and her perfectly composed narration would serve countless other artist subjects very well. Kudos for keeping the focus on what you hear in the music instead of the more common appeal of how the artist and the work relate to the broader culture. Her selections of specific passages to point to Joel's pop and rock influences were spot on and completely impressive. Also, as a 37-year old enormous Billy Joel and classic rock fan, with background as a musician as I assume the host has, it was fascinating and endearing to witness an appreciation of this music from the next generation's perspective (if that is indeed what we have here). I hope she keeps this up.
