    Leon Rose vs. Sam Presti: Who Is The NBA's Best Executive?

    Leon Rose vs. Sam Presti. Who would you rather have running your NBA franchise? CP The Fanchise makes the case that Leon Rose deserves recognition as the best executive in basketball after building a championship team in New York. Ari from Manhattan isn't convinced. His pick is Sam Presti. Presti's advantage starts with talent evaluation and asset management. Oklahoma City has built a championship-caliber roster while continuing to accumulate young players and future draft capital — creating a model that could keep the Thunder in contention for years. CP counters with the difficulty of Leon Rose's job. Unlike Presti, Rose couldn't spend multiple seasons rebuilding at the bottom of the standings. He had to construct a contender while dealing with the expectations and pressure that come with running the Knicks. And he ultimately built a championship starting lineup without drafting a single member of it. From signing Jalen Brunson to trading for OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges, Rose transformed the Knicks through relationships, trades and calculated risk. Two decisions stand above the rest. First, New York surrendered five first-round picks for Bridges — a deal even the Knicks understood was an enormous price. Then Rose moved on from Tom Thibodeau after an Eastern Conference Finals appearance and hired Mike Brown. Both gambles paid off with a championship.
