About your host Heather Pugh: Heather is a boy mom to three wild and wonderful little boys under the age of 5 whom she happily wrangles alongside her husband Daniel in sunny Oceanside, Calif. She hales from Oak Creek, WI where she grew up dreaming of becoming a journalist one day. Heather graduated from the School of Journalism in 2009 with a double major in Journalism and Spanish. She spent a semester solidifying her use of the Spanish language studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. Heather has since worked in various strategic communications roles for national brands (such as Oregon Chai, Culver's Restaurants and Schneider National trucking) and also local business (mostly in health care). She also has over 500 hours of yoga teaching certifications and over 10 years of teaching experience. Her specialties include Vinyasa, White Tantra, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Prenatal, Guided Meditation and breath work. She previously hosted the podcast, Yoga for Balance. When she's not storytelling or on a yoga mat, she loves spending time with her family by the beach where they live in Oceanside, San Diego, California. She also loves roller skating, hikes, nature, cultivating personal style, baking, cooking, is curious about ceramics and doing all she can to be the best mother, wife, friend, family member and neighbor.

    Prenatal Yoga and Life Update with Heather Pugh

    In this solo episode, Yoga for Balance podcast host Heather Pugh shares an update on what's been happening behind the scenes. Not only is she preparing to welcome her second baby boy into the World, but she and her family recently relocated to Austin, Texas.  Find out how yoga has supported her throughout these transitions. In this conversation, you can look forward to: -  A quick life update: Heather relocated with her family from San Diego, CA to Austin, TX at the end of the summer. She's currently taking a break from teaching in-person classes until they have their baby in November and will return to teaching early next year. In the meantime, you can look forward to updates here and on the Yoga for Balance YouTube channel. - All about yoga for pregnancy: — Heather completed her first prenatal yoga training while pregnant with her son Ajja in 2021 (in addition to my 500+ YTT certifications). Previously, she had taken a couple of prenatal workshops and had limited information, but this gave her a deep dive into how I could adapt my personal practice and teaching.  – She also touches on her own personal experiences through each of her pregnancies so far and how yoga has supported her along the way: pre, during and post pregnancy. — Considerations by trimester. — How you can adapt any yoga practice online or in person to your pregnancy.
