Once you go a certain distance on your path with the Lord, something happens.
It may be tragedy, heartbreak, it may be sin that you have allowed or a mistake. Whatever it is, our God has a way through.
The way is a Person. His name is Jesus Christ. This Person is not only the written logos, He is the rhema.
We have to know Him as both; but sometimes we are not clear, because the finer points in the Holy Scriptures are not apparently connected to our situation.
When this happens, we can be at loggerheads. Discouragement can halt our progress. This is when we need brothers, who with the experience of life and knowledge of the Word, with the view of God's economy, are able to shepherd us.
When sheep fall lie down too long, they can become stuck, because gas builds in their rumen and they are then too bloated to stand. They then cannot stand, and the problem becomes even worse.
These sheep will die unless a shepherd helps them.
Being willing to be helped is a great thing. I accept, and appreciate the help to stand aright from these short clips of fellowship.
May the Lord constitute us all as shepherds, once we ourselves have been able to receive.
