Choralosophy
This page is dedicated to driving a conversation for choral musicians with the PHILOSOPHY of Choral Music at the heart of every post and podcast episode. Topics will be wide ranging from the technical aspects of our jobs and careers all the way to the artistic interpretations and values that make us who we are as artists. Join me in this conversation in which I hope we can learn from each other.
The Resource the Modern Choral Director Needs
09/25/2021
This podcast is my everyday way to become a better choral director. It is engaging, thoughtful, and inspiring to people who want to be the best versions of themselves in this important field of work.
Well worth the time

I ran across this podcast as I was struggling with being a first time Choral director. Huge impact on my outlook and rehearsal strategies. An incredibly important tool!!
Fantastic Resource
09/10/2021
Anyone leading, singing or interested in choral music should make this a part of their regular podcast rotation. Topics range from the practical (e.g. vocal pedagogy, teaching sight reading) to the philosophical (choirs and diversity/equity, how we interact with our colleagues online and what we value in our ensembles). Both inspirational and helpful!
The missing piece
09/10/2021
This podcast was the piece I didn’t know I was missing as a choral director. It’s caused me to reevaluate every aspect of my job and create new definitions of excellence for myself and my students. I have benefited equally from the practical ideas and the philosophical ideas. I’m so grateful to have found someone willing to question everything and challenge our field to do better - with ideas from a wide range of “experts” on how to do just that.
