Fun, Nostalgic, and Surprisingly Educational!
This is the deep dive into Barbie movies that I never knew I wanted.
Mena and Jason are a great mix of hilarious, relatable, and knowledgeable. They are managing to cover movies made for children in a way that, while suitable for all ages, is very much enjoyable for adults.
This is definitely joining my rotation of podcasts for when I want to listen to something enjoyable that, while not completely mindless, doesn't require the attentiveness that all the story-driven podcasts in my listening queue do. (I think of it as the Barbie-movie version of the kind of discussion/review I've come to enjoy from Tone Deaf's handling of musicals.)
SO FUN
Oh it is so, SO fun listening to two people having such fun chatting about old Barbie movies (some under appreciated and others better forgotten...). I love the feminist and LGBT-friendly perspectives and I love all the things brought up in discussion! It’s like chatting with friends, except they’ve actually done interesting research! Thanks for a great show!
