    A Conversation With Hendrik Harms & Kirstie Gregory (Worcester Film Festival 2026 Special)

    This is the fourth and final episode in this year's exclusive 4-part mini series in the run up to Worcester Film Festival 2026 and it's the big one! In this episode, Marcus is joined by the organisers of Worcester Film Festival, Hendrik Harms and Kirstie Gregory for their annual catch up just before the festival gets under way.     A Conversation With Zoë Bullock & Nathan McCuaig (Worcester Film Festival Special)

    This is the third episode in this year's exclusive 4-part mini series in the run up to Worcester Film Festival 2026. During the series Marcus and Callum will be speaking with filmmakers whose films will be screened at this year's festival as well as the organisers themselves. In this episode, Marcus had a conversation with Writer & Director, Zoë Bullock and Producer, Nathan McCuaig. Zoe and Nathan's short film, "Sunlight Water" follows recently single Josie who rescues a houseplant in serious need of some TLC only to find herself falling in love with the plant itself. Thus begins the process of Josie trying to figure out exactly what the plant wants, but by doing so, risks losing herself in the process. The film really does throw your emotions everywhere and through comedic moments, romantic allusions and deeply emotive dialogue, Sunlight Water gives a captivatingly unique perspective on toxic relationships. This is the first short the pair have collaborated on and the story of how they came to collaborate on this project is a really fascinating one which we discuss during the conversation. During the chat Marcus also discusses Zoe’s experience of her directorial debut, the challenges they overcame on set as well as the differences between working in TV, theatre and film. "Sunlight Water" will be screened at Worcester Film Festival on 10am on Wednesday the 23rd September.     A Conversation With Ludo Hoffstetter (Worcester Film Festival Special)

    This is the second episode in this year's exclusive 4-part mini series in the run up to Worcester Film Festival 2026. During the series Marcus and Callum will be speaking with filmmakers whose films will be screened at this year's festival as well as the organisers themselves. In this episode, Callum had a conversation with the filmmaker, Ludo Hoffstetter. Ludo's stop-motion animation, "Factory Reset" follows an automaton born in the depths of a forgotten factory and its programmed curiosity through a silent world of rust and steel. Ludo is a French filmmaker based in Paris and spent 10 years working away at this films which includes some unbelievably impressive stop-motion animation work, with so much of the film being practically shot. “Factory Reset” explores grand questions about determinism, individuality, and identity. The character’s journey mirrors both the stages of life (from birth and childhood to labour, aging, and death) and the rhythm of the modern daily grind (waking up, going to work, returning home exhausted, and starting again the next day). The big existential questions posed by this film are dived into between Callum and Ludo during this episode as well as discussion about how Ludo pulled off this incredible technical feat of filmmaking.     A Conversation With Isaac Thornton & Danny Taylor (Worcester Film Festival Special)

    This is the first episode in this year's exclusive 4-part mini series in the run up to Worcester Film Festival 2026. During the series Marcus and Callum will be speaking with filmmakers whose films will be screened at this year's festival as well as the organisers themselves. In this episode, Marcus had a conversation with writers and directors, Isaac Thornton and Danny Taylor. Isaac and Danny's short film, "The Card's We're Dealt" is a coming of age drama set In the wasteland of a post WW3 Britain where two teens, locked in a room together, discover the lengths they'll go to for survival. The film evokes a heightened sense of tension throughout, slowly revealing more clues to the mystery of what is going on in the wider world as well as in the individual lives of the two characters. This is the second short the pair have made together. With them being only 17 when they shot The Card’s We’re Dealt they surely have a bright future ahead of them. In this chat, amongst other things, they discuss how Isaac and Danny got into filmmaking, how they executed such an impressive film so early in their career and what screening their film at Worcester Film Festival means to them.     A Conversation With 49 Miles More (Oliver Cox, Gregory Fung, Reece Henderson & Mike Guthrie)

    In this episode Callum is joined in conversation by the writer/director and cast of the independent feature comedy "49 Miles More". THIS EPISODE CONTAINS SPOILERS. The film follows Max (Reece Henderson) – an unlucky insurance salesman struggling to find his footing – and his fun-loving best friend, Doug (Gregory Fung) as they hit an unexpected roadblock when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. With 49 miles left of their journey, the chalk and cheese besties set out on a long-distance adventure that tests the limits of their bond. As the duo navigate bad detours and dumb decisions, their journey becomes a reminder that while life rarely goes according to plan, growing up doesn't have to mean growing apart. Writer and director, Oliver Cox, along with cast members Reece Henderson (Max), Gregory Fung (Doug) and Mike Guthrie (Mike) discuss at length how the film came together, what it was like on set (especially playing around with the comedic elements) and what the deeper themes of the film mean to them.     A Conversation With Anthony Sutcliffe (Writer & Director)

    In this episode Marcus is joined by writer and director, Anthony Sutcliffe. Marcus first met Anthony at Worcester Film Festival in 2024 where his short film "Cope" was screened and receiving a fantastic reaction. The film's lead actor Nick Hendrix went on to win the Best Performance award for his role in the short. "Cope" is a drama about a man who only has 6 weeks to live. During the film we follow his struggle and his shifting mindset throughout this period. "Cope" was released on YouTube in January of 2025 on and at the time of this episode being released, has attracted over 1.3 million views. This was a film Marcus was really intrigued to discuss, both off the back of the experience at Worcester and the film's later success online. Marcus and Anthony also discuss Anthony's 20 year career in the TV industry, working in the camera department on iconic British TV shows such as Casualty and Midsummer Murders. Anthony shares how he got into the world of TV and film, starting out at a post-production house in Bristol and how his career has developed and evolved over the years. Anthony has released a selection of other short films on YouTube over the years and the pair chat about Anthony's writing and directing style and how he brings his short films together.
