Body image has a strong impact on society. Especially in social media and ads on billboards. In this episode I personally share my own eating disorder story and how I got to where I am today. The stigma surrounding eating disorders has personally hurt me along the way and has guided me to my activism in ending stigma in the health field.

    Anti-Vaxxers and The Vaccine Debate

The debate over vaccines and children has gone too far. Anti-vaxxers argue with, and solely rely on the misinformation of their personal communities and a false scientific report of vaccinations causing autism. Not only does this ignorance put an individual child at risk, but that of the whole nation. Risking an epidemic of a disease that was eradicated so long ago.

Breastfeeding in Public in the US

The topic of breastfeeding is greatly stigmatized in the United States. For something so natural and genuine between mother and child, a law had to be put in place to establish breastfeeding as a right of mothers and not an act of nudity. The objectification and sexualization of women is unacceptable and often lead to a mothers embarrassment and the under nourishment of her child.

Pharmaceutical Companies and Drug Prices In the US

Explain to me how the US pays 3 times more than the UK for life saving drugs? Explain how an ambulance ride to save your life is $12 in Germany but $3,000 or more here in America. These are just some of the injustices here in the US towards our health, which many can’t even afford.

Colorism In Our Communities and the Media

Colorism is an issue that continues to threaten the Black Lives Matter movement and the Black community as a whole. We as a community of African-Americans and minorities need to realize that as we attack ourselves, we not only derail our movement for justice but also make our enemies stronger.

    Gun Laws In America

On February 14th, 2019 will commemorate the one year anniversary of the Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting in Parkland, Florida. This isn’t the first time something like this has occurred, and will continue unless the right thing is done; STRICTER guns laws.

    Abortion in America

Abortion is obviously a very touchy subject. For a teen who is not only an activist, but identifies as female, and is a patient and supporter of Planned Parenthood; the topic is something that needs to be discussed allowed for why it is necessary.
