How to Use Both the Staff and Scepter God Put in Your Hands (Priests and Kings)

In today’s talk, Leigh Sloan presents a compelling framework that encourages us to explore the dual roles (priests and kings) we hold as Christian leaders: the Staff or the Scepter mindsets. This concept is rooted in biblical references, particularly in 1 Peter and Revelation, where we see the idea of a royal priesthood.  Leigh highlights the stories of Joseph and Daniel, who exemplified the kingly mindset. They improved their environments and brought value to those around them, even in challenging situations. This raises an important question: How can we transform our spheres of influence into places of goodness and prosperity?  God cares about the real issues we face—economic, social, and even technological. As we navigate challenges, from AI to global injustices, we’re called to seek solutions, not just spiritual answers. Leigh urges us not to shy away from our power as believers. We have a responsibility to engage with the world and make a difference, whether through political action or community involvement. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to a greater good. As we face the upcoming election season, remember that your vote is a powerful expression of your authority. Don’t succumb to hopelessness; instead, embrace your role as a solution bearer.
