Guarding Against Worldly Think

This sermon examines the insidious nature of worldly moral reasoning, tracing its roots to the temptation in the Garden of Eden where doubt replaced absolute obedience. The speaker contrasts the relativistic framework of pragmatism, which prioritizes personal benefit and consequences, with the absolute duty to trust God's character and commands. Drawing on Leviticus 18 and 2 Corinthians 6, the message emphasizes the necessity of separation from incompatible cultural thought forms to prevent the corrosion of biblical truth. While acknowledging the challenge of living within secular cultures, the sermon urges believers to take every thought captive to Christ, rejecting syncretism and maintaining a distinct moral identity grounded in Scripture.

Solidarity in Prayer

This sermon explores the theological significance of Daniel's prayer, emphasizing that Godly saints must identify with the entire covenanted people of God rather than focusing on individual or local church interests. The central message argues that the church is a single body that moves as one, requiring believers to pray diligently for the collective good and restoration of the global church. By analyzing Daniel's confession of corporate sin and his plea for mercy based on God's name, the text highlights the necessity of humility and solidarity in the face of the church's desolation. The preacher urges believers to adopt a spirit of ardent supplication, pressing God's promises with urgency and seeking the glory of His name in all aspects of the church's life. This call to unity serves as a corrective to parochialism, asserting that true revival and divine action depend on the collective faith and prayer of the whole body of Christ.

Blessings in Disguise

This sermon explores the theological significance of suffering for the believer, drawing primarily from Psalm 94 to argue that days of adversity are often blessings in disguise. The central message asserts that God uses hardship as a tool for spiritual instruction, deepening the believer's understanding of His Word and character. The text emphasizes the unshakeable assurance that God will never abandon His people, citing multiple Old Testament promises to counter feelings of forsakenness. Furthermore, it highlights God's ability to provide inner relief and consolation, even when external circumstances remain difficult. The tone is pastoral and encouraging, urging the audience to trust in God's faithfulness and find joy in the midst of trials.

The Battle for the Mind

This sermon examines the spiritual danger of pragmatic and relativistic moral reasoning by analyzing the serpent's strategy in the Garden of Eden. It argues that questioning God's explicit commands is fundamentally an attack on His character and integrity, leading to a worldview where truth is subjective and outcomes justify means. The teaching contrasts this with the biblical mandate for separation from pagan ideas, emphasizing that obedience to God's Word is an intrinsic good that reflects the Imago Dei, regardless of human understanding or anticipated consequences. By citing modern examples such as euthanasia and utilitarian healthcare decisions, the sermon illustrates how relativistic thinking erodes the sanctity of life and moral boundaries. The central message calls believers to reject worldly philosophies and adhere strictly to the authority of Scripture as the sole standard for faith and practice.

Family Unity

This sermon exhorts believers to diligently preserve the spiritual unity given by the Holy Spirit within the body of Christ. The preacher outlines seven theological reasons for this command, including the oneness of the body, spirit, hope, Lord, faith, baptism, and God. Practical application involves walking worthily through humility, gentleness, patience, and forbearance in love. The message emphasizes that unity is a divine gift to be maintained, not manufactured by human effort or programs. Ultimately, the text calls for personal reflection on one's role in fostering harmony and trusting in Jesus as Savior.

Pragmatism's introduction

The sermon critiques the infiltration of pragmatism into church ministry, arguing that prioritizing results over biblical fidelity distorts worship and evangelism. It contrasts normative and regulative principles to demonstrate how consumer-oriented approaches replace God with human sentiment. The discussion extends to the relationship between civil government and the church, asserting that both spheres operate under the same moral law despite their distinct jurisdictions. By examining theological confessions, the speaker warns against isolating the state from divine ethics or allowing the church to usurp civil power. Ultimately, the message calls for a return to deontological ethics grounded in God's commands rather than consequentialist strategies.

Proximate and Ultimate Causes

The sermon explores the distinction between proximate and ultimate causes regarding God's blessing of the godly, using Psalm 18 as the primary text. It establishes that while God generally rewards righteous behavior, this is a secondary principle rather than the foundational reason for His grace. The preacher clarifies that human obedience is never perfectly blameless and cannot earn salvation or blessing on its own merit. Instead, the ultimate cause of all divine favor is the perfect obedience and substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ, who serves as the covenant head for believers. Consequently, believers are motivated to live righteously not by earning God's love, but by responding to the immense grace already provided through Christ.

Knowlege of the Love of God

The sermon explores Paul's prayer in Ephesians 3, highlighting the spiritual blessings God desires for believers. It emphasizes three key gifts: divine strengthening through the Holy Spirit, a deeper comprehension of Christ's boundless love, and being filled with God's fullness. The preacher explains that these blessings are available to all Christians across history, not just the original Ephesian audience. The message concludes by urging believers to ascribe glory to God through worship and obedience within the church community. Ultimately, it calls listeners to trust in Christ alone for salvation and to live out their faith with renewed purpose.
