DEEP WORK | "Clearing the Clutter"

We live in a shallow world with quick answers, constant motion, and noise both inside and out. Lent calls us deeper--beneath distraction, beneath habit, beneath self. In the Old Testament, God often led His people into deep work confronting what was broken, healing what was hidden, and shaping His people for wholeness. This Lent, we enter that same journey and allow God to go beneath our surface to connect us more to our Divine Design.  We come to this fist Sunday of LentrReturning to where we first met God. Pastor Karla asks us to remember our Bethel, and asks what hashappened since? What cultural clutter has accumulated? What sin has built up in our lives? She then invites us to clear away what has accumulated which allows us to hear from God again.  Passage: Psalm 24:3-6, Genesis 35:1–7 We have three worship opportunities for you to experience: 9:00 a.m. - Sanctuary Service 9:30 a.m. - Online Service 10:30 a.m. - Chapel Service  Please consider joining us for one of these services.  To view past worship services along with other digital content, go to our Youtube Channel @PointLomaChurchOnline.  To get involved in what God is doing within our community, please visit our website at www.pointlomachurch.org. DEEP WORK | "Deep Calls Unto Deep" | Ash Wednesday Service

We begin the Lent Season with a special Ash Wednesday Sermon. Pastor Karla leads us into the Lenten Season by asking us to examine in ourselves the feelings that are similar to those found in the writier of Psalm 42. Why are you downcast oh my soul? At the depths is the feeling of being overwhelmed. Yet, whatever the depths of God, is the appeal to the corresponding depths in us.  Passage: Psalm 42 We have three worship opportunities for you to experience: 9:00 a.m. EARTHWISE | "Prophets, Pollution, and Public Witness"

Earthwise invites us to rediscover our Divine Design to care for God's creation. Through Scripture and honest reflection on the brokenness we see around us, this series explores how environmental stewardship is an act of justice, discipleship, and hope in Christ. Together we'll consider practical ways to live faithfully as we await God's promised renewal of all things.  This week, we have a special guest speaker, Phiippe Lazaro. Philippe is the Communications Manager and Storyteller for Plant with Purpose. Philippe shares the stories of people living at the forefront of the climate crisis, who are working to transform their ecosystems and communities. He loves emphasizing the human experience, and keeping conversations about the environment centered on the communities most affected by it. Today, Philippe shares with us that God rebukes nations that pollute the land and oppress the poor. Environmental justice is a prophetic call—it confronts systems that exploit creation and people. Passage: Amos 5:21–24; Isaiah 24:4–6 We have three worship opportunities for you to experience: 9:00 a.m.
