    Scary Childhood Characters

We’re Back… and we’re talking about those TV & movie characters and scenes that traumatised us way before we even knew what therapy was?  The ones that had us sleeping with the light on, checking under the bed, and sprinting up the stairs like something was chasing us? In this hilariously horrifying episode, we dive head-first into the creepy archives of our childhood screens — from possessed kids with demonic stares, freaky aliens, a floating boy, witches that were way too committed to their roles, The Twilight Zone’s nightmare intro, and yes… we even revisit THAT chilling ending of Thriller 👀 (you know the one). Expect laughs, goosebumps, and plenty of “WHY were we allowed to watch this?!” as we relive the characters that had us hiding behind pillows, sofas, and occasionally a family member who didn’t consent to being a human shield. If you grew up in the era of accidental childhood horror, this one’s for you. Grab a blanket (to hide under), turn on all the lights, and join us for a spooky stroll down memory lane! Don’t forget to follow, share, and hit us up with your own childhood nightmares — what was that characters that kept you awake back in the day. Warning: Listening to this episode may trigger sudden flashbacks and an urge to sleep with a nightlight. 🔦😱 #OldSkoolMovement #Podcast #SpotifyPodcasts #Nostalgia #ChildhoodTraumaButFunny #RetroTV #80sKids #90sKids #Horrormovies #ScaryCharacters

“How Things Were… to How Things Are” - Lives Not Knives Special - Podcasthon 2025

‘Old Skool Movements Podcast’ presents a ‘Podcasthon Special’ in support of ‘Lives Not Knives’ Back in the day, if you had a problem with someone at school, you’d probably settle it with a quick scrap behind the bike sheds, a game of "next goal wins" on the football pitch or a winner-takes-all match on Street Fighter II at the arcade. The beef was settled, and by the next day, you were best mates again. But times have changed, and so has the way young people handle conflicts. In this episode, we’ll dive into how beef was handled when we were kids against the harsh realities that today’s youth face with the rise of local crime, social media pressures, and a culture where carrying weapons has sadly become the norm for some.  We look back on old-school playground justice, the unwritten rules of respect, and how things have spiralled into something far more dangerous in modern times. We’ll shine a light on the incredible work of ‘Lives Not Knives’, sharing their mission and how you can help support their cause.    Can we help change the mindset of young people today?  Let’s talk about it.
