    The efficiency cult

Hi!! What are we oversharing today?  We're breaking the recommendation rules... we saw Verity, and we have THOUGHTS. Then we’re asking: Is facing life with urgency actually good for us? We’re getting into why we’re always rushing, and whether everything really needs to be done right now. Finally, we're talking all things Margot Ackerly (...Robbie). Laura has some strong feelings about it, while Steph and Laura share their very different reasons for changing, or not changing, their names after marriage. Plus, we asked YOU what you think about taking your partner's name when you tie the knot. A huge thank you to Maybelline New York for supporting this episode of the Steph & Laura podcast. The tell-tale signs you've "aged up"

Happy Hump Day!!! What are we oversharing today? Steph has realised she’s suddenly into Dancing With The Stars… and we have one very important question: have we officially aged up? We’re unpacking the tell-tale signs that you’re entering your *older* era, sharing our personal giveaways and hearing yours too. Then, we get into the big relationship debate: should your husband be your best friend? A viral piece from The Cut introduced us to the phenomenon of “mankeeping” and, naturally, we have thoughts.  In this episode, Steph recommended The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and Laura recommended Crew Girl.   You can also find the Atlantic article referenced in the episode here! Find a man who can pitch a tent (and hello to our troll!)

Hi!! What are we oversharing today?  Well… we dive into the wide world of burner accounts and rogue internet activity, revealing some of our biggest internet secrets before we turn the tables and unpack yours! Then, we dissect the viral dating non-negotiables list and reveal our own… Laura isn’t stoked to find out she isn’t Steph’s perfect man. A deep-dive into our hormones & nervous system - with Dr Fatima Khan

Dr Fatima Khan is a women’s health doctor. She has trained in psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, and general practice and has an Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. Fatima is the author of the new “Hormone Health is Mental Health: How perimenopause hijacks your brain — and how to reclaim yourself”. We loved this title and the concept that hormone health is mental health so we wanted to have Fatima on the podcast to talk about it!  In this episode we speak about the menstrual cycle and what is happening to our hormones at each stage of the cycle, the characteristics of estrogen & progesterone, PMDD, and the importance of small daily practices to support our nervous systems.  WE MENTIONED Follow Fatima https://www.instagram.com/drfatimakhan_/?hl=en  Work with Fatima https://www.drfatimakhan.com/  Read Fatima’s book ‘Hormone Health is Mental Health: How perimenopause hijacks your brain — and how to reclaim yourself’ https://www.penguin.com.au/books/hormone-health-is-mental-health-9781761623813  KICBump PODCAST Looking for our parenting podcast? WWYD: my parents like my sister’s partner more than mine

We’re opening the mailbox and answering your dilemmas! QUESTION #1: My parents won’t stop making comments about if & when I break up with my partner. They seem to prefer my sister’s boyfriend even though my partner & I have been together longer. It’s making my partner anxious. How do I talk to my parents about this and set boundaries?  QUESTION #2: My best friend is keeping big life events a secret from me. She’s bought houses and sold houses and bought a new car and hasn’t told me until it’s all completely finalised.  Am I overreacting? Do I feel entitled to her news when I shouldn’t be? SEND US YOUR QUESTIONS If you have a question you want our opinion on, please slide into our DMs on Instagram! We’re @kicpod. If you’re not on Instagram, you can email us at kicpod@kicwellness.com.  All questions will be anonymous 3  KICBump PODCAST Looking for our parenting podcast?
