The Artist's Creed
A Christian artist hopes that God is working in and through her. But does this mean that her own voice and identity must be silenced? In this podcast series, Steve Guthrie (Belmont University) draws on the tenets of the Nicene Creed to develop a rich vision of the relationship between the voice of God and the voice of the artist.
Got a Need fo’ da Creed!

This has become of my listened to podcasts. The theological underpinnings of deep things are made of rough iron hewn out of a mountain and its fell goat. Every episode is one. And sometimes more. Whenever I need to be an artist, I will always come here to do so. Like Rocky, I jab the Creed with artistic punch and it smiles and punches back (but not Ivan Drago).

Steve is such a good conversationalist, and I really admire the way he structured this season of interviews—each episode corresponding to an affirmation from the Nicene Creed. Every conversation ends up in surprising places and sheds new light on the intersection of art and faith. If you’re looking for some new voices to speak into your creative process, whatever your craft is, look no further! You’ll find some inspiration here.
