SHRUTI KUMAR

Behind the Beat is a Gender Amplified original podcast highlighting the work of female and non-binary music producers. For today's episode, we had the honor to speak to Shruti Kumar -- a music producer and composer based in Los Angeles. Listening to Shruti's journey as a woman who film scores resonated deeply with us, especially after the New York Times' profile on the topic of the gender gap existing in the field. Shruti has worked with artists such as Nas, Alicia Keys, Fiona Apple and more, and her compositions have been used in programs such as NPR and National Geographic. The music that you hear in the background of this podcast are all scores of Shruti's! If you liked what you heard, you can find Shruti at @tamingoftheshruti on Instagram.
