"Stop Child Abuse Now" (SCAN) feature trauma informed HOSTs and Co-hosts and respected child abuse prevention, intervention and recovery advocates. They're all volunteers members of the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA). Founded in 2009, NAASCA.org is a grassroots effort. It was launched based on our founder Bill Murray's personal life experienced. Bill wrote, "Very few adults escape years of severe childhood sexual abuse, pre-pubescent X-rated photography, sex trafficking, and a two week long kidnapping." He continued. "But I have, and for some 35 years I've been in recovery from its devastating effects." There are no dues or fees. Our MISSION is entirely self-sustaining through the volunteer contributions of our members. The single purpose is to address issues related to childhood abuse and trauma including sexual assault, violent or physical abuse, emotional traumas and neglect from two specific perspectives:  Educating the public,Offering hope for healing and services to adult survivors. There are now nearly 4000 BlogTalkRadio shows, podcasts in the ever-growing library. Join us every week for solution-oriented discussions about the many issues of child abuse and trauma. The shows always include panel discussions and call-in participation.     Al Perry - NAASCA, SCAN #4000

    Tonight's special guest is Al Perry who is a husband, father, and friend living in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His life is filled with family, joy, and a touch of chaos, a backyard basketball net, five bikes in the shed, and a badass minivan in the driveway.  He is a business owner, a leader in his field, and a passionate volunteer for causes close to his heart. But that's only part of his story. He is also one of the one in six men who have experienced sexual abuse. He survived seven years of childhood molestation. For years, He buried this truth and built a good life, quietly carrying the weight of pain and struggle on an island alone. Twelve years ago, his world began to unravel when his eldest daughter turned six, the same age he was when his abuse began.  Her innocence forced him to confront the magnitude of what he'd lost. Overwhelmed with fear, sorrow, and anger, he realized he had to fight, not just for her, but for himself too. Through therapy, reflection, and hard work, he has learned to embrace the journey. His daughter became his bridge to healing, helping him rediscover his worth and purpose. Facing his trauma head-on has made him stronger, and each day he strives to grow one percent better. Today, he mentors men and women with similar stories, helping them find hope and reclaim their light. His mission is to end the cycle of abuse, protect future generations, and empower survivors to heal and thrive. He has turned his pain into purpose and his struggle into strength.     Monica Phillips has always been Intentional about her love and compassion towards the people of God and that is Everyone. In Ezekiel 18:4 it says that all souls are mine (Yahweh’s). She is now in year eighteen of doing her Outreach ministry, which she calls Drive Thru Prayer (DTP) she started by hearing the voice of the Lord while sitting in a church service instructing her to “GO” outside in one of the high crime areas in Youngstown, Ohio with pieces of a cardboard box with the words “Need Prayer” written on them and sit in a chair and wait, and before long people where coming from everywhere stating that they needed Prayer! People were being prayed for and their lives were being changed on the spot! Years later people still show up! Now hosting her conference “This Is My Exodus” which welcomes Everyone however it is tailor-made for those men and women who have suffered abuse of any kind including church hurt molestation and sexual abuse within the church walls as Monica was molested and raped at the ages of 13,14 finally dealing with it after 40 years of silence and being Healed Monica’s sincere hope and Prayer is that her Testimony and Mission will help those who are struggling spiritually, mentally, and emotionally to get on the other side of the pain of their abuse with guilt, shame, and self-blame and to LEAVE that place of bondage (Egypt) where the sting of each experience is no more! Pastor Deborah is now a survivor-professional, living in Pensacola, Florida. She's trained in ministry, mental health, working with substance abuse, and is a trauma-informed social worker, all in one! She volunteers with many community organizations. Pastor Deborah says she ".. can minister by text, phone, Skype, in person and however the Lord directs her, 24/7." Pastor Debra teaches that humans have three parts: spirit, soul, and the physical body, and believes that all 3 are important and that each area needs care. A long time volunteer for NAASCA, Victoria has a harrowing life story filled with abuses of all types including multiple cases of institutional abuse. The founder and managing director at 'AHHHS: A Helping Hand for Healing Souls', Victoria regularly runs support groups, rallies, speak outs and conferences and talks to police and to shelters. She works directly with women and children to get their basic needs filled: food shelter and clothing at Ending Domestic and Sexual Violence. Victoria can be regularly found on our SCAN talk radio shows where she volunteers her time and appears as a Host. Victoria isn't afraid or shy about any topic, and is eager to participate at NAASCA, so please take advantage of her long-time recovery. ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, and survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants.
