Bookings and general chatter - tom@evenfunkier.com Funkier Sounds Radio Show - weekly on twitch.tv/evenfunkier Even Funkier is a London DJ with a soft spot for anything groovy, dusty, soulful or downright funky. His sets glide between disco, house, boogie, jazz-leaning cuts and global rhythms - blending warm, feel-good shimmer with the occasional burst of high-energy, dancefloor-ready goodness. Proudly neurodivergent with a brain wired for deep dives and left turns, he brings a ‘Hyperfocus meets Heart’ approach to digging. The result is sets packed with surprises - forgotten disco gems, modern bangers and the odd curveball that somehow makes perfect sense in the moment. Joyful, a touch chaotic in the best way, and you never quite know what’s going to happen next. He’s played everywhere from Glastonbury to late-night basements and boutique festivals, bringing an open-minded, genre-fluid style that doesn’t take itself too seriously but always brings people together. Alongside DJing, he’s released edits and originals on a load of top labels and is the mind behind Funkier Sounds - a growing platform celebrating all things funky - from a mix series and newsletter to a forthcoming record label and events series - all built on community, creativity and good, funky vibes.

Funkier Sounds Episode 198 (Secret Sauce)

Like the little neurodivergent DJ that I am, I obsessively tag my tracks so i can easily filter them by all sorts of qualities. One of my tags is, for some reason, called ‘Secret Sauce’, and it’s reserved for the handful of disco, boogie and occasionally a bit Latin tunes that are very special to me. I’m not even sure what makes a track qualify as Secret Sauce, but it makes sense in my head. They’re obscure, wonderful, fierce disco bangers that work well together, often (but not always) with that characteristic up-down disco bass. Anyway, whatever the tag means, each track in this episode has it. This was an off the cuff friday night Twitch session where I just filtered by that tag and went live, and as it always is with these tunes, it was a ton of fun. Funkier Sounds Episode 196 (Heavy Hitters & Space Business)

Kept this one solidly funk and soul, with some jazzier bits thrown in for good measure. All selected off the cuff - complete with a few slightly shaky blends, as is the way when you’re winging it and mixing old funk tunes live. Some proper heavy hitters making an appearance - Curtis Mayfield, Lyn Collins, James Brown and Jamiroquai all turn up early doors alongside some more obscure bits, before the pace picks up and it gets more broken as it goes. A nice cosmic run in the middle too, with Dexter Wansel, Manzel and Captain Sky, and there's one of my own Curtis edits snuck in there, just because. TRACKLIST The Rebirth - Evil Vibrations Curtis Mayfield - Superfly Jamiroquai - Starchild Eli “Paperboy” Reed - Come And Get It Lyn Collins - Think (About It) James Brown - Give It Up Or Turnit A Loose Breakwater - Release The Beast Positive Force - We Got The Funk Flyjack - Black Water Gold Legacy - I’m So Glad The Impellers feat.
