    28: Interview: Jeremiah Jones, Christian singer-songwriter

    If you're thinking about becoming a singer-songwriter, this podcast episode will inspire you to keep pushing on! (Interview from circa 2017.) Jeremiah and I helped lead a radical Christian worship team in South Carolina and Georgia for a while. I thought I should glean from his more recent success, so I asked him for his time and he gladly responded in kind! Jeremiah is most known in churches and Christian radio worldwide for writing a song mentioned in this podcast.

    27: Interview: Andrew Pudewa of IEW fame

    This interview is from circa 2017. Andrew is what I would call a true Renaissance man. His focus on whole-person and classical training, especially in communication, has led to millions of children growing up knowing how to communicate in written word. Unbeknownst to me when I first heard of Andrew, he has a delightful backstory including some intense violin training which he shares about in this recording. Enjoy! From his Amazon bio: Andrew Pudewa is the founder and director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing and a father of seven. Traveling and speaking around the world, he addresses issues related to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling, and music with clarity, insight, practical experience, and humor. Although he is a graduate of the Talent Education Institute in Japan and holds a Certificate of Child Brain Development from the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his best endorsement is from a young Alaskan boy who called him “the funny man with the wonderful words.” He and his heroic wife, Robin, have homeschooled their seven children and are now proud grandparents of eighteen, making their home in northeastern Oklahoma's beautiful green country.

    This episode is from an interview in 2017 with one of my favorite people, Sam Mizell. Sam helped me out a few years back when I was living my Nashville life. He guided me along my way I voyaged among the rough seas of studio sessions, touring, and songwriting. Sam was incredibly helpful and gave me so many pointers that blew my mind, I thought I'd reach out to interview him for my violin podcast--and it was so good, I'm putting it here for all the musicians' parents to hear.
