    ESOA Podcast 100 Dynamo Dreesen

Greetings, my dear listeners, ambient nerds, house fans, dub freaks, technoheads and, of course, drum & bass enthusiasts. This podcast has been covering all of this and much more for seven years now. And when I started this on a whim back in May 2019, I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined that I’d still be doing it today. Today, with this episode, we’ve reached number 100. And of course, this has only been possible thanks to your support – the many listeners and fellow travellers – and, of course, the fantastic guests. You’ve all helped make this, in my view, very special ESOA podcast what it is today: a subcultural contribution covering all facets of electronic music. I’d like to say thank you. My guest today is, once again, a very special one, and I’m delighted that he’s finally joining the ESOA family. I really appreciate that, as always. I’m talking about Andreas Krumm, or Dynamo Dreesen, an artist who perfectly embodies the full scope of the podcast through his DJ sets, his productions and the label Acido or like he say A-tschi-do Records. It all began back in 1990 in Flensburg with his first experiments in alternative rock, dub, hip hop and a touch of jungle. And so, now in his third decade, he’s still going strong. Initially inspired musically by his idol John Peel, he later - now living in Milan - suddenly found himself inspired at an antiques market to launch his A-tschi-do label. Today, his sound falls somewhere within the house genre, whilst drawing extensively from minimal, funk, electro, jazz, world music and tech genres. I think his set for the podcast is a masterpiece and therefore worthy of the 100th episode. Have a listen and enjoy it for yourselves right here: ESOA Podcast 100 by Dynamo Dreesen. As always, I’m sending a little peace, respect and subcultural solidarity into a world that knows no bounds. ESOA Podcast 099 AOSH

Hello Everyone, It’s that time again to escape the ever-faster, increasingly chaotic whirlwind of life, filled with AI and Bad News. And instead, to immerse ourselves a little in Music and Culture. I’m grateful for every artist who joins me on this journey. Today it’s AOSH, an artist from Dutch. He’s been actively involved in that scene – with its raw warehouses, sound systems and the kind of atmosphere you could create from scratch yourself – since the late 90s. The Sound he’s developed from this now encompasses Ambient, Dub Techno, Leftfield Bass, Melodic textures and Breakbeat. So it goes without saying that he’s a perfect fit for the ESOA family. He has very deliberately chosen every single track with respect for each individual artist, which he has included in Today’s Set for us here. His idea behind this is to remain experimental and to focus on deep listening. It starts off warm and dub-heavy, eventually diving into hypnotic, undulating dub-techno, and lets the final section fade into something calmer and more human. We’re looking forward to another brilliant set. Here is ESOA Podcast 099 by AOSH. Have a great, respectful and peaceful time. Thanks for listening. ESOA Podcast 096 The Gnat & Mad_line

Hi everyone to a new episode of ESOA Podcast, and this time – I should mention this right away – we’re venturing into territory beyond 160 BPM. It’s Gabba time again. I reckon most of our older listeners first came across these hard styles back in the 90s – Hardcore and Gabba. And I think this style also has its place as a branch on our Electronic Music Tree. For this episode, I found two dear old friends who’ve agreed to put together a nice, hard-hitting set for us. Robert and Jan, aka The Gnat & Mad_line, are from Chemnitz. They’ve known each other since school days and gained their first musical experience at the former Kunstfabrik in Glösa. A memorable place where so many Chemnitz artists laid their foundations in the 90s. Having previously started out as solo artists – Robert, for example, under the name Violation – they have been performing together since 1999, beginning at their home venue, Club Achtermai in Chemnitz. Over the years, they have also played at venues such as Triebwerk in Dresden, Sky Club in Leipzig, Ndorphin Chemnitz or Tresor in Berlin. Their own productions and releases can be found under names such as Dropping Bomps, Hunted Souls or Never Burn Out on Hardrive Records. For all those who like this sound, enjoy the next two hours; to everyone else, we say: do give it a respectful listen. Here, exclusively for you The Gnat & Mad_line on ESOA Podcast 096. ESOA Podcast 094 Lonerist

Dear friends of contemporary electronic Music, Welcome to the ESOA Podcast. It’s sad to see how the world seems to be getting worse and worse. We should take a moment to reflect and appreciate how beautiful life is and I’d like to keep reminding you of that here with consistently great Music. After all, as we all know, Music helps to provide a positive counterbalance. And I can promise you right now that my guest today does just that with what I think is yet another wonderful and seemingly golden Dub Techno Set. His name is Lonerist and he hails from Scotland. Yet another artist whose active roots stretch all the way back to the 90s. He plays and produces everything from hip hop to deep house and electro, though he focuses very strongly on the dub techno genre. And that is precisely what he’s treating us to here today. His releases can be found on Labels such as Cold Tear, Crossfade Sounds, Piranha Siberia Dub, Verdant Recordings and Insectorama. He has already performed at major events and clubs such as ‘The Arches’ and ‘The Sub Club’ in Scotland, amongst others, and several of his dub sets can also be found on other techno podcasts. He is delighted to have been invited to the ESOA Podcast and to have such a long set time at his disposal here, allowing him to showcase his dub sound with its space and depth, featuring long transitions. Friends, here’s an exclusive for you: Lonerist on the ESOA Podcast 094. Have a great time.
