Pastor Petr Rattay speaks at 03. 05. 2026 Every Christian lives on a battlefield with three enemies: The World a culture pulling us away from God. The Flesh– our sinful nature that resists God. The Devil and demons – real spiritual opponents. Today we focus on Satan. Some ignore him, others see him everywhere. The truth is balanced: he is real, active, but already defeated by Jesus and limited by God. Satan is a created being (Lucifer), not equal to God. He fell because of pride and now deceives humanity. He is not omnipresent, omniscient, or omnipotent. His main weapon is lies—he twists truth, questions identity, and offers shortcuts that avoid obedience to God. He can even appear as something good to mislead people. Demons are fallen angels. They oppose God, deceive, and can influence or oppress people—but they remain under Christ’s authority. In Philippi (Acts 16), a slave girl is freed in Jesus’ name. Paul and Silas are then beaten and imprisoned, yet at midnight they pray and worship. God sends an earthquake, chains fall off, and doors open. The jailer, about to give up, encounters grace and believes with his whole household. Lesson: spiritual oppression is real, freedom is found in Jesus, worship breaks chains, and God turns darkness into salvation. Today, the enemy still works—often quietly—through lies, temptation, accusation, and deception. He blinds minds so people cannot see the truth and presents evil as something good. How do we respond? Submit to God and resist the devil. Stand firm using God’s armor: faith, prayer, God’s Word, and the name of Jesus.Christ’s victory: He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.
