A year ago, August 3, 2022, I made the decision to get out of a toxic relationship with myself. I hated myself. I had no respect for myself and I had to make a change. Since making that decision I got a lot more done in a year than what I got done in my lifetime.

    Ep 1 - How to Build a Following On ANY Platform

    Hey guys this is Alex J. Martin and this is the Stimulated Podcast. Where I stimulate your mind and show you how to market your grind. And today we are going to talk about how to build a following on ANY platform. If you get any value of from this episode please share with a friend, your followers, or on your social media. I really want to help you and this is coming from a pure place. A place of expertise and place of care.       NEWS 1.    X formerly known as Twitter rolls out ad revenue share program to all eligible users. a.    So now you can make money on X thanks to the ads in the replies section b.     So how do you become eligible?                                                i.     Be subscribed or Blue or Verified Organizations.                                              ii.     Have at least 15 million impressions from your tweets over the last 3 months. So basically 5 million impressions a month.                                             iii.     Have at least 500 followers.                                             iv.     Have a Stripe account.   2.   Instagram is fully experimenting with a range of generative AI elements a.    Soon you will be able to create new stickers/ posts using AI within the platform b.   There will be an AI chatbot that will be able to help answer questions and provide recommendations. c.    An AI system that will summarize your DMs for you.   3.    Snapchat rolls out a close friends feature.   4.    TikTok launches text based posts a.     So you can literally create post with just words on it.   TOPIC How to build a following 1.    Know what you want. a.    Knowing what you want to do with your social media. Is your objective to get more buyers or just get followers? b.  I always tell people take some time to think about it. c.    Study the people that do what you do or want to do. Pull inspiration.                                                i.     Don’t be afraid to study people outside of your industry. Your industry needs a disruptor. Why can’t that disruptor be you?                                              ii.     Study people in your city and outside of it.   2.    Know your tone and your ideal audience. a.    What group of people will be engaging with your content? b.    How do you want those people to know you? Will you be funny? Will you educate? Will you be serious? Figure what that is. c.   Know what is valuable content to your audience.     3.    Stay with the trends and know what trends are taking off and throw your spin on it.   4.    Create a 3-6 month strategy. Know what you want to do for each platform you want to dominate. Because you can’t post the exact same way on every platform. a.    Know your top 3 platforms and dominate there. b.   Know the best times to post and know the important dates that mean something to you and to your audience. c.   Know which one you will put most of your content and focus on. d.    Know your hashtag/ SEO strategy. e.    Optimize your bios/ profiles   5.   Get to work. a.    Excuses slow you down. b.  Use a scheduling tool if you must. Worst case scenario block off 4 hours every Sunday dedicated to planning your content. c.    Stay consistent and stay disciplined. d.  Engage with your audience and welcome new followers. Make them feel like family.   6.    After the first 2-3 weeks, study your analytics and revise your 3-6 month strategy. a.  There’s always room for improvement. So you will always be revising your strategy as algorithms change and as you learn what your audience likes from you.   7.    Constantly study your industry and what’s going on within it. a.    You want to be the best at what you do.
