Kalen DeBoer: "This is about reloading"

Kalen DeBoer: "This is about reloading"

On Tuesday, Kalen DeBoer was introduced as Washington's 30th head coach, and for Washington fans, it has to feel like Christmas came just a little earlier than expected.
DeBoer met with supporters and the media at Husky Stadium and talked about not only why he picked Washington to be his next head coaching opportunity, but how he plans to get the team quickly back to where everything thought it was going to be less than 12 months ago. In his words, this job right now isn't about rebuilding, it's about reloading.
Washington Athletic Director Jennifer Cohen was also there to explain the hiring process and why she feels DeBoer is the right coach at the right time to bring Washington back.

DawgmanRadio: Breaking Down the Kalen DeBoer Hire with BarkBoard's Jackson Moore

DawgmanRadio: Breaking Down the Kalen DeBoer Hire with BarkBoard's Jackson Moore

With Kalen DeBoer announced as the new Washington Head Coach on Monday, it was time to get some answers from the source. And when it comes to all things Fresno State Football, Jackson Moore of BarkBoard.com is as good as it gets.
So we asked him the following questions during this breaking of the Kalen DeBoer-to-Washington story:
    Who is Kalen DeBoer?
What kind of a coach is Washington getting in DeBoer?
What kind of a program did DeBoer run at Fresno State?
Who runs the offense; DeBoer or the offensive coordinator?
What kind of offense should UW fans expect to see from DeBoer?
Who was responsible for coaching up the QBs? DeBoer or Ryan Grubb?
Does DeBoer get involved in the defense at all? And what scheme did they run?
How many assistant coaches will DeBoer bring with him to Washington?
How will DeBoer recruit in the Pac-12?
What is Jeff Tedford's future? Could it be with UW? Or is it for sure he'll be Fresno State's next head coach?
Jackson does a great job with plenty of insight into how things went under DeBoer in Fresno, and also does his best reading of the tea leaves when predicting who he thinks will stay in Fresno or come to Montlake when it comes to DeBoer's assistant coaches.

EMERGENCY POD: The Dawgman guys react to the hiring of Kalen DeBoer to Washington

EMERGENCY POD: The Dawgman guys react to the hiring of Kalen DeBoer to Washington

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - knew the news was coming, but it's always a bit of a shock when it actually happened. And on Monday it happened; the Washington Huskies hired Fresno State Head Coach Kalen DeBoer to be their next head coach, replacing Jimmy Lake.
So what is their initial reaction to the hire? Their initial reaction to the process Washington went through under Athletic Director Jen Cohen? They talk about all of that, as well as the first steps for DeBoer in salvaging a 2022 recruiting class that will start to come together two weeks from Wednesday, as well as who will DeBoer bring with him from Fresno?
And how will Jeff Tedford play a part in DeBoer's move, if any?
Finally, the guys also talk a little about the other UW news that came out Monday that OLB Laiatu Latu, who medically retired in April due to a neck injury, has put his name in the transfer portal in the hopes another school will clear him to play.
And one more time, all of this is going on while we are in the final hours of our biggest promotion of the season; SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT off an annual Dawgman subscription. With so much excitement right now surrounding UW Football, as well as so much that's still unknown about what Kalen DeBoer will do with his coaching staff and recruiting, there's never going to be a better time to join.

DawgmanRadio: Quick Monday Coaching Search Update

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - got together early Monday morning to post their latest thoughts on the Washington coaching search, including the effects the hiring of Lincoln Riley to USC will have on UW and the rest of the conference.
But who is going to become Washington's 30th head coach? Will it be Matt Campbell? Will it be Kalen DeBoer? Will it be a name no one has talked about? We're getting down to the end of the search and the Dawgman guys give their thoughts on how all of it is going to wrap up.
Scott also offers his initial thoughts on how a coaching change is going to affect the current recruits on board for 2022 and what is needed to salvage the class.
And don't forget, today is the LAST DAY of our Cyber Monday promotion; SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT off a yearly subscription to Dawgman.com. With the coaching search winding down, this is the best time to get in, because we'll have wall-to-wall coverage of everything that happens with the new hire, insight into his assistants, effect on recruiting, and much more.

DawgmanRadio: Putting The Apple Cup To Bed, Coaching Search Update

DawgmanRadio: Putting The Apple Cup To Bed, Coaching Search Update

Washington lost the Apple Cup in spectacular fashion last night. It wasn't a close game. Heck, this game seamed to be over the moment Washington stepped on the field. Why was that? Apparently they thought this "new" coaching staff would run the same scheme that Mike Leach ran during his seven years as the head of the Washington State. They chose to run the same defensive scheme that had helped them dominate their cross-state rivals and it was a failure.
The Cougars rolled up 454 yards of offense and quarterback Jayden de Laura set himself up for free drinks at the The Coug and Valhalla (once he turns 21 of course) for the rest of his life by going 27 of 32 for 245 yards while rushing for another 31.
In addition to de Laura's outstanding performance, tailback Max Borghi rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns and the Cougar defense limited the Huskies to just 200 yards on the night, including just 63 in the first half.
In his first start for the Huskies, Sam Huard looked, well, like a freshman. He showed some flashes to be sure, but he also showed he still has a long way to go by throwing four interceptions.
The guys from Dawgman -- Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund -- broke down what they saw during Washington's State's dominating 40-13 win at Husky Stadium on Saturday night. They wondered why the coaches just refused to change their game plan as contest moved along.
They also broke down the latest news on the coaching search and talked about where some of the top candidates could land as well as which ones could wind up being the next hire for Washington athletic director Jen Cohen.

If you’re an idiot...

You should listen to these three clowns because you might actually think they are dialed in. Spoiler alert, they aren’t. Two fat guys and the dude with a woman’s name has a HUGE Napoleon Complex and I would bet money he pees sitting down.

Good Husky content but....

These guys just don’t like each other anymore and it makes for a tough listen. The content is good enough to stick it out. Get a group therapist and hash out whatever it is that’s been going on the last few years. Everyone contradicts Grinolds no matter what he says.
