    Define the Relationship: Don’t Miss the Party (Week 6)

    We started the series with a story about two brothers and a father who ran. We spent that first morning with the younger one - the one who left, lost everything, and found his way home. But there was always someone else in that story. Someone who never left, never wandered, did everything right - and still found himself standing outside the party, close enough to hear the music, unable to walk through the door. This week we go back for him. Because it’s possible to be around something your whole life and never actually be in it - to be familiar without ever becoming family. This is where everything lands: the story, the framework, and the invitation that’s been open the whole time. The father is still in the yard. The music’s still playing. Don’t miss it.

    Define the Relationship: Settled (Week 5)

    Jesus told a story about a farmer who had a very good year, built bigger barns, and told himself to take life easy - and Luke records God’s one-word response. We look at why comfort might be the most successful of the four things we all chase, why it’s the only one that never breaks you, and what it quietly costs: a life rich in only one direction. Then a harder question than last week’s - not “where are you?” but “how long have you been there?”

    Define The Relationship: Don't Be Fooled (Week 4)

    Two weeks ago we introduced a map - stranger, acquaintance, mate, friend, family - and asked you to find yourself on it. This week we ask a harder question: why do people stop moving? For many of us, it's not that we don't want to go deeper. It's that we know what deeper costs. Some of us have paid it before, and it went badly. This week we're honest about that. We look at Joseph - a man betrayed by his own family, with every reason to self-protect forever - and the moment he chose to say "don't be afraid" to the very people who gave him his scars. Because here's the truth about the wounds you're carrying: they're not a warning sign. They're a sign you're stronger than what hurt you. Real belonging requires real risk. Don't be fooled into thinking safe is the same as protected.

    Define the Relationship: You Choose (Week 3)

    An invitation arrives with your name on it. Someone wanted you there. And at the bottom, a little box: RSVP, respond, please. Here’s the thing about that box: it doesn’t fill itself in, and not replying is also a reply. This week we introduce some shared language for the journey from stranger to family - five stages you already know instinctively - and meet a woman named Ruth, who was released from every obligation and chose the deepest reply anyone has ever given: your people will be my people. The depth of community you experience is determined by the depth of community you choose. So - where are you, honestly? And what’s your next step?

    Define the Relationship: No Longer Strangers (Week 2)

    Last week we heard a story about two brothers and a father who ran. This week we look at how the apostle Paul describes that same journey — and what it means for us. In Ephesians 2, Paul gives us the language. No longer foreigners and strangers. Fellow citizens. Members of the household. It turns out the journey from stranger to family isn't just a nice idea — it's the theological destination of everything God has been doing. And it's the framework for everything LifeSwitch is trying to do. This series is called Define the Relationship because you get to define it. But if we're going to move together - toward our mission, toward our vision, toward the kind of community we're called to be - we need a shared language to do it with. This week we find it.

He was telling a story about two kinds of lostness, and a father who ran for both of them. Whether you’ve never set foot in a church or you’ve been here for years, this story has a place for you in it. The only question is which character you recognise yourself in.

We also unpack a few more of the convictions that shape everything we do for the next generation, including why we anchor our faith in the resurrection rather than just the Bible, and why our goal has never been to raise believers — but followers.
