First of all, I’ve been listening to these guys since they launched “Heart Shaped Pod” about Nirvana. I don’t remember exactly how I happened upon Adam, Travis, and Andy, but I’m so eternally grateful that I did.
I’m glad all their shows are getting made into separate seasons rather than completely different shows - it makes finding the content much easier. And with Oasis being the latest season (much like Adam, I’m an Oasis fan), I was laughing harder and learning more about the actual history of that group than I’d ever known before. Travis Clark’s voice impressions seriously kill me.
The real beauty of this show is that, much like these guys, I didn’t like a lot of the bands they started to cover. In fact, I blatantly hated Limp Bizkit and Korn. Nirvana and Oasis are pretty much the only two bands I’d listened to extensively before these guys launched this podcast. But the awesome thing is that I still listened, learned, and laughed at every band these guys have covered, regardless of whether I genuinely liked the music or not. And as a result, I’ve appreciated music that I would’ve never listened to otherwise. That much is 100% fair to say.
I think some of the other reviewers missed the point of this podcast. It’s not necessarily about ripping on bands you didn’t like in the first place. It’s about building a comedy show around often overlooked or under-appreciated music, telling the real story of the artists and how they created their content, and laughing at the stupidity that inevitably follows most rockstars and high-profile celebrities. It’s a very fun show and I hope these guys never stop. I’m a huge fan!
