The NBA: Lakers, Sports Gambling, Adam Silver's Bald Ass, and CBA Facade

In today's episode I discuss the NBA through the lens of a personal Lakers fan and through the sociological lens & understanding of capitalism. I begin the episode with a discussion regarding my excitement for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. I provide some of my thoughts on the league and specifically the Los Angeles Lakers. Then, I move majority of the conversation to politics that guide viewership, sports betting, Adam Silver's leadership & comments, and the new CBA rules that protect owners while hurting the players' pockets through the facade of competition.

    Intersection between Capitalism & Slavery

In this episode, I build off a well thought out discussion my cohort had during our two-hour dialogue where we discussed the intersections between capitalism and slavery. We accomplished this using the Communist Manifesto and a podcast from Nikole Hannah-Jones detailing a more holistic approach to deconstructing capitalism through the lens of slavery within the United States. In my episode, I use the Communist Manifesto to further analyze capitalism and slavery as guiding philosophies within the world we have inherited.

Exploration of the Purpose of Education

In this lower quality episode, I expand upon my writing and describe in larger depth the purpose of education. I'll definitely get back to my regular audio set-up for next episode, but I really just wanted to get this one out despite its quality so that I could move on to newer projects and really build a more holistic network of articles, video essays, and accompanying podcasts. Enjoy!
