Social media summed up - “Social media gives legions of idiots the right to speak when they once only spoke at a bar after a glass of wine, without harming the community ... but now they have the same right to speak as a Nobel Prize winner. It's the invasion of the idiots” ― Umberto Eco -was an Italian medievalist, philosopher, semiotician, novelist, cultural critic, and political and social commentator. GEN X and the youth - complaining about younger generations - The ultimate "pull-up-the-ladder" move is when the generations (boomers/Gen X) who controlled the economy for the last thirty years mistake modern convenience for actual economic ease. They’ve swapped out long-term stability for the "slim margin" fragility we see today, then have the audacity to call younger people "fragile" for struggling in the wreckage. It’s like building a high-stakes, zero-buffer world and then complaining about the architecture of a house you designed yourself. Blaming the youth for a "lack of discipline" in a game where the deck was stacked before they even sat down at the table. It's not even fair to direct it at the youth. Gen X you used to understand this but somewhere you got angry because things were pulled away from you from the previous generations. It's not the youths' fault that they want something different and better. Gen X you brought us punk, metal, and other great things. Remember that you're doing the outcasting now of the youth that you once so proudly defended. Slim profit margins/SPIRIT AIRLINES - The Spirit Airlines collapse is just proof that our current version of capitalism is a total house of cards. We’ve spent decades worshipping 'efficiency' and 'slim margins,' but all we really did was trade resilience for a cheap sticker price. Big corporations squeeze small businesses out of existence with prices that are impossible to match, and then the second fuel prices or interest rates jump, the giants go bust anyway because they have zero buffer. It’s a race to the bottom where 'cheap' ends up being the most expensive thing we’ve ever bought. We're not living in an efficient economy; we're living in a fragile one. The collapse of Spirit Airlines is the "canary in the coal mine" for a version of capitalism that has finally eaten itself. For decades, the mantra has been "Efficiency above all else." We’ve been told that "Lean" and "Just-in-Time" are the peaks of business management, but in reality, they’re just fancy words for fragility. Steve Nash on American kids sports - [Nash] on player development: "It's pay to play in the States. Capitalism is wonderful... not great for player development. In Europe, to play is free. You go to your local club, it's subsidized by that community, everyone is there long term to develop. The American “dream” has created a place of PTSD, mixed with little empathy, and a lot of hate. Read a tweet and I agree with it - “I’m no supporter of Donald Trump, but I’ll give him this; he’s held up a mirror to society and has shown us exactly who among us harbors hatred, bigotry, and self interest above all else. I never knew there were so many evil people living among us.” Even Gemini AI thinks Hegseth is a failure - “a Fox News commentator stating inaccuracies is a media ethics issue, a Secretary of Defense doing so is a catastrophic governmental failure. It’s an immensely troubling situation.” Educated Ignorance — The Ideology Barrier - You can be educated while still being misled or dumb individual. For educated Americans, the rejection of political or scientific consensus is often not due to a lack of data, but a successful defense of a core ideology (e.g., maximum personal liberty or economic freedom). A perfect example - they grade Trump on a curve, if you are MAGA and you bought the merch you are in a cult. The AI bubble explained-Transactions that lack economic substance but create the appearance of increased revenue is both "circular deals", & "Round-tripping" is basically a financial sleight of hand—it’s money leaving a place and coming right back, often disguised as revenue. In the purest sense, it's when Company A gives Company B money, and then Company B immediately turns around and pays that exact same money back to Company A, booking it as revenue. It looks like a legitimate sale, but nothing of intrinsic value actually changed hands. It’s an accounting fiction that inflates one or both companies' balance sheets. And you are falling for it. Because all you hear is “regulations bad”. Even though they are still putting regulations on you. We are ruled by tech monsters and AI is causing harm - It drains vast resources to power tech to the point that humans begin sacrificing their own needs for the needs of a glorified machine. Can you imagine if Kamala Harris had 5 children from 3 different men and cheated on all of them? The GOP would rip her a new a*****e.
