Can I Say That?

I’ve been in church of one sort or another for most of my 52 years of life. And I have to say, this podcast is one of the most refreshing, intriguing, HONEST, and certainly thought provoking. I love and respect the raw authenticity that Brenna shows as she explores questions and themes that many church goers are afraid to address and look blindly the other way, stuck. As I get older, I find myself going back to the filter of what would Jesus say or do in such and such situation? (Ie immigration, LGBTQ, politics and on and on)…. I think many Christ believing churches might be surprised by His approach and overwhelming love in ALL situations that often church goers find themselves looking the other way. Thank you for bringing the tough questions and thoughts to ponder and shaking the dust off of some of the “because we always do it this way” kind of thinking. I appreciate your humility and transparency. Thank you!

I tried to message you through Insta but you might not get it. Your work is such a blessing to me. Tryna keep this brief, this morning, I very much by accident hit the screen on my phone and your recent podcast started playing- A New Vision for Church Planting. I have been so grieved after I recently left the ministry have been serving at for the past 9 yrs. Long story short, I felt that we were not doing ministry right and I didn’t feel heard. I have experienced a dirth of the kind of leadership you describe. We are under another organization but it’s based in another country, and it’s a very small church plant, so there is no real checks and balances, and no consistent wise elder counsel. As an aside, I have been partnering in prayer with my 80 yo mother at the Lord’s prompting for over a year (every night) and I realized that I am more educated but she has more vision and working together is necessary. This was for me and thank you for taking the time to read it. I am subscribed but with so much content🤷🏾‍♀️…. You’re my mentor from afar💜

Yikes I don’t normally write reviews but yours stirred me to give a testimony….. to the podcaster I wish I could give this podcast 10 stars your testimony was sent by a friend on YouTube because I am struggling with my own identity as a bi woman that is looking for answers….. I read a review by coco that said they wished they could give it a zero because it’s unchristlike or whatnot to even ponder the idea that a 3 year old should be taught sex ed……your anger my friend is misplaced. I was a 4 year old who was being molested but didn’t know the verbiage to tell on him. Sex ed would’ve helped me. I was groomed by the adult at the time because I didn’t even know that that touch was wrong. my parents told me my *vageen* (sensored bc I don’t want this to be taken down) was called a Lucy. So when I was being asked “is so and so touching your blah blah” I said no because I didn’t understand the question and it continued for 4 more years. Sex ed is important. Now The right time to tell? There isn’t a right answer but to say it’s wrong and ungodly simply isn’t the answer either, it brings more shame around the subject and to victims who have been “that” child. You’re stifling their voice even if you don’t think you are. Your anger is right in the sense that I shouldn’t of had to know that at that age….but when sin entered into the world so did our responsibility to protect ourselves and our young from it…..It’s ugly. It’s hard. But man I wish my parents at minimum taught me what inappropriate touch was or atleast the proper name for my body part. Please remember sex ed doesn’t have to be about the topics of pleasurable acts. It is simply education and the beauty of eduction is that it is fluid and can be brought down to any appropriate age level…… If you’re reading this as a fellow victim please know that What happened to you, God can transform for good. He did for me🩷
