    Matthew López-Jensen｜Landscape Perceived through Technology

    Luis Manuel Diaz | Post-migration Life and Images of Care

    In this episode, we talked about the post-migration life of Latino youth, the lack of representation of certain community, the cultural assimilation problem of America, as well as the exploitative history of photography and works that reinforces stereotypes. Luis Manuel Diaz, born in Michoacán, Mexico, is a photographer based in New York. His work examines themes of immigration, citizenship, and care. Diaz holds a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design and was recently awarded the EnFoco Photography Fellowship and the Magnum Foundation’s US Dispatches Grant.     Wendy Vogel | Nude Photography and Morality Around Art-Making

We also talked about art institutions and some of their decisions that are quite controversial.  Wendy Vogel is a writer, critic and independent curator. A former editor at Flash Art International, Modern Painters and Art in America, she writes regularly about art and culture for a number of publications, including Artforum, art-agenda and MOUSSE. She has curated or co-curated exhibitions at the Hessel Museum at Bard College, The Kitchen, Abrons Art Center, VOLTA NY, bitforms and EFA Project Space. She currently teaches in the photography department at Parsons School of Design. He was formerly the photo director of Vice Magazine, and has written criticism and interviews about art and photography for Aperture, Vice, Art F City, and Time.
