The Light at the End of the Tunnel | 1 Peter 5:10-11 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 06/28/2026

In this message from 1 Peter 5:10-11, we see one of the Bible's greatest promises of hope for suffering believers. Peter reminds us that while suffering is a real part of the Christian life, it is never the end of the story. Our trials are temporary when viewed in light of the eternal glory God has prepared for His people. This sermon explores how Christians can endure hardship with confidence by fixing their eyes on the God of all grace. He is faithful to complete the work He has begun, restoring, confirming, strengthening, and establishing His people through Christ. Peter encourages us to live with an eternal perspective, trusting that God is at work even in our darkest moments and that His promises will ultimately lead to complete restoration. The result is a life filled with hope, perseverance, and worship as we give glory to the One whose dominion is forever and ever. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_195148ce4e9540acb2010707aee189e3.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_bfb4a931f3ba456ba58bd744abcc3302.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

    Jesus is Better | Pastor Ben Nistor | Hebrews 1:1–4 | 06/21/2026

Hebrews opens with the declaration that God has spoken. Throughout the Old Testament, He revealed Himself through prophets, visions, dreams, signs, and many other means. Yet all of those revelations pointed forward to something greater. In these last days, God has spoken finally and fully through His Son, Jesus Christ. The message of Hebrews is clear: when believers face suffering, pressure, discouragement, or temptation to drift away, they must remember that Jesus is better than every person, system, promise, and shadow that came before Him. Hebrews 1 focuses on the supremacy of Christ. Jesus is the heir of all things, the Creator of the world, the radiance of God's glory, the exact representation of His nature, the sustainer of the universe, the purifier of sins, the risen King seated at God's right hand, and superior even to the angels. Because Jesus is better, believers are called to persevere in faith, hold fast to the gospel, pursue holiness, worship God with reverence, and endure faithfully no matter the cost. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_458e6e50a70e4c8abbeee4d75b8c3e5e.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_c1090c859dc34490b1e7f574aaae7926.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

    Transgression vs Faithfulness | Psalm 36 | Family Camp 2026 Session 1 | Dr. Jason Oakes | 06/14/2026

Psalm 36 presents a powerful contrast between the deception of sin and the steadfast love of God. In this message from Family Camp 2026, Dr. Jason Oakes walks through David's words to reveal the heart, words, and actions of the wicked, while pointing us to the faithfulness, righteousness, protection, provision, and pleasure found in God alone. Drawing from Psalms, Romans, the life of David, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this sermon reminds us that sin deceives, God's love endures, and Christ is victorious. Whether you are struggling with the brokenness you see in the world or confronting the reality of sin in your own heart, Psalm 36 calls you to take refuge in God's steadfast love, feast on His grace, and find life in the light of Christ. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_e3aab1d430014da2ba8fe95431a50ecb.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_71c588a9a2e441adad3f980d3f478c36.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

    Your Adversary the Devil, Part 2 | 1 Peter 5:8-9 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 05/31/26

In this message from 1 Peter 5:8-9, we continue our study of Peter's warning about the reality of spiritual warfare and the believer's response to the devil. Writing to Christians facing persecution, Peter gives four practical commands: stay alert, resist the devil, stand firm in the faith, and remember that you are not alone. We see that Christians are not called to fear the devil, obsess over him, or look for him behind every difficulty. Instead, we are called to be spiritually watchful, grounded in God's truth, and steadfast in our faith. Peter points us to the same lesson Jesus taught His disciples in Gethsemane: watch and pray because temptation is real and the flesh is weak. This sermon also explores how believers resist the enemy through submission to God, worship, prayer, Christian fellowship, and confidence in the truth of God's Word. Just as Jesus answered Satan's temptations with "It is written," Christians overcome by standing firmly on the promises and truth of Scripture. Finally, Peter reminds us that we do not fight alone. Believers around the world share in the same struggles, and God has given His church as a source of encouragement, strength, and perseverance. Through Christ, we can stand firm together and remain faithful until the end. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_dedc79e2ee38412d8ae196514cc80b27.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_c5a43c4964c7424a9ed14339d2d2afc7.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

    Your Adversary the Devil, Part 1 | 1 Peter 5:8-9 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 05/24/26

In 1 Peter 5:8–9, Peter closes his letter with a serious warning for suffering Christians: be sober-minded and watchful because the devil is real. Writing to believers facing persecution across the Roman world, Peter reminds them that they are not only enduring earthly opposition but are living in the middle of a spiritual battle. Scripture consistently reveals Satan as a deceiver, accuser, tempter, and enemy who opposes God’s truth, attacks God’s people, and seeks to destroy faith. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible shows the reality of this adversary and his ongoing war against the people of God. At the same time, this passage points believers to hope and confidence in Christ. Christians are called to resist the devil by standing firm in the faith, remembering they are not alone in their suffering. The enemy may prowl like a roaring lion, but he does not have the ultimate say. Jesus Christ is the sovereign, victorious Savior who came to destroy the works of the devil through His death and resurrection. Our refuge, deliverer, and eternal victory are found in Christ alone, the Lamb of God who rescues His people and secures their future forever. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_0e442a7b762846a48a034a4f59d58185.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_0d696b9c9c5f43b1be0567aa8103841c.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Body Life that Makes the Difference | 1 Corinthians 12:12–26 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 05/17/26

Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 12 cuts against the mindset of isolation and consumer Christianity. God did not save believers to function independently. He formed the church as one body with many members, each placed intentionally and gifted for the good of the whole. Pastor Andrew Coleman walks through how the Father arranges the body, how the Spirit empowers it, and how Christ unites it. Unity in the church does not come from personality, preference, or similarity. It comes from belonging to Christ together. The passage also presses into practical Christian living. Scripture calls believers to care for one another in tangible ways: bearing burdens, showing honor, serving faithfully, grieving together, and rejoicing together. A healthy church cannot survive on attendance alone. Biblical fellowship requires sacrifice, humility, and active love for other believers. This passage challenges Christians to examine whether they are strengthening the body or remaining disconnected from the work God designed the church to accomplish. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_09d7256eb8044adcbaf58e6afbfa5af7.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_a75032ec72ae421ea604ec1a81611760.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

The Lord Remembers the Brokenhearted | 1 Samuel 1:1-2:11 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 05/10/26

In 1 Samuel 1:1–2:11, we see the powerful story of Hannah’s sorrow, faith, and God’s grace in the birth of Samuel. Hannah carried deep personal pain through years of barrenness, misunderstanding, and emotional exhaustion, yet her suffering drove her toward God rather than away from Him. This passage reminds us that God sees the silent burdens people carry and welcomes the brokenhearted to pour out their souls before Him. Even when others misunderstand our pain, the Lord remains near and attentive to His people. As God answers Hannah’s prayer, her sorrow is transformed into worship. Hannah recognizes that Samuel ultimately belongs to the Lord and willingly gives him back to God’s service. Her song of praise lifts the focus from herself to the greatness and faithfulness of God. This message also highlights the beauty and dignity of godly motherhood, showing how faithful mothers can deeply shape future generations for the glory of God. Above all, this passage points us to a gracious God who works through painful and imperfect situations to raise up worshippers and accomplish His greater purposes. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_3a3271d347cc47509e8743bdc291cea4.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_de1b4991bbdd43feb531b07e155a06a6.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

    Humility Brings Ultimate Peace | 1 Peter 5:6-7 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 05/03/26

In 1 Peter 5:6–7, Peter brings his letter toward a powerful conclusion by calling believers to a life marked by humility and trust in God. Writing to Christians facing real pressure and suffering, he reminds them that humility is the starting point of the Christian life. To humble yourself under God’s mighty hand is to surrender to Him fully and rest in His authority. This humility is not weakness but strength shaped by the example of Jesus, who humbled Himself in both service and suffering. Peter also shows that humility changes how we handle both our future and our burdens. Instead of striving to lift ourselves up, we trust God’s timing, believing He will exalt us at the right moment. Instead of carrying anxiety alone, we cast it on Him completely. This is not denial of life’s pressures but a deliberate act of faith. The reason we can do this is simple and deeply personal: God cares for us. True peace grows when we trust His care, knowing the One who calls us to lay down our burdens is the same Savior who carried our sins and walks with us in every struggle. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_5a56670a6ed847e284040a8c5454182f.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_17cc13b2786b430dbfdc72743f0fa597.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/
