Episode 76: Ole Miss vs. LSU '26 - The Golding Standard?

Finishing the discussion from the Red Sox-Braves game in May '26, talking about Ole Miss taking down LSU and if Pete Golding really is a top coach in the SEC, what the Auburn-Florida game really meant, and if flexing in the press box down to an unranked team is cool. This episode is brought to you by our incredible sponsors: Maypop Tires, Faultee's Spark Plugs, Dogwater Sports Drink, Moore-Gooder Paints, and Third Local Bank. 2026 Around the SEC in 60: Ep. 4: Tennessee, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama

Can Ole Miss keep it going? Is Rocky Top Tennessee going to win the Battle of Real SEC UTs? Can Auburn dig out of the hole and get back to prominence? (Spolier alert: Jordo has kind things to say about the Tigers) Is Alabama finally embracing Kalen DeBoer? Most importantly: Is it truly a preview if it comes out after Week 2? Drew, Will, and Jordo tackle these questions and more in the last--and most important to our audience--of the SEC preview series. Will is away on personal business, but sends his love--and predictions. Plus, the guys talk if Mike Norvell makes it out of Tuscaloosa still employed by Florida State, the importance of Florida-Auburn this weekend for both Jon Sumrall and Alex Golesh, and start on a hilarious story about the Braves-Red Sox game Drew, Will, and Jordo went to this year - with the conclusion next week. TMP 73: 9.11.01 Memorial

Hey everyone, We wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. We blend sports and pop culture in comedic style here, but some things are bigger. Each of us on the staff here remember where we were, what we saw, and how our country responded. While it was one of the darkest days in our country's history, we want to make sure that none of the lives lost on that day are forgotten. So, in our small way, we want to observe 60 seconds of silence in its own standalone episode in tribute. It doesn't feel like much, but we hope you'll join us in remembering those who were lost, those who lost loved ones, and those who still feel the impact of that dreadful day, a quarter century later. God bless America. May we never forget.

The Offseason - Ep. 2: The GOATs of Movie Athletes Mini-Draft

With football season ending, baseball season not yet started, and college and pro basketball still not to their championship tournaments, The Message Pitch is combating the February Sports Blues by introducing a new series, titled "The Offseason." Each episode will serve as an evergreen piece that can be listened to at any time, as opposed to the tradition current events subjects The Message Pitch covers. Episode 2 of "The Offseason" series sees sports and pop culture collide as it focuses on the greatest athletes to ever grace the silver screen. In this episode, what started as a conversation about who the movie athlete GOAT is turned into a draft as Drew, Will, Matt and Jordo each picked a four-round mini team. The rules for a GOAT were simple: Rule 1: The athlete cannot be a portrayal of a real athlete in a biopic. Rule 2: The athlete cannot be a real athlete cameo, or an athlete playing themselves. (MJ in Space Jam is out, for example.) Rule 3: It can be any athlete, any sport, any movie. (And boy, did this rule get tested.) Check out the episode to see who made it, who didn't, and some of the more hilarious picks courtesy of Jordo and Will. Will also stunned the guys with his picks in a great and sincere performance. Weigh in on the picks, as well as your own picks, by visiting The Message Pitch on social media and at themessagepitch.com, be sure to like and subscribe, and leave us a review wherever you get your podcasts.
