    068 - Staring Down the Barrel - American Woman Spirits

    Kurtron lands a great bourbon from a friend of a friend of a friend. We travel to Steamboat Springs, Colorado to catch-up with John and Ann for an hour of innovation and creativity, celebrating the artistic spirit of American women. This is a very unique story about a new way of making a really tasty bourbon with a purpose to keep the arts flowing. Featuring a high-corn mashbill, American Woman Bourbon has a smooth, sweet taste but the story behind how this came together is unlike anything we have heard. After recording each episode in 2023, we poured a shot of what we tasted into a gifted, crystal decanter with our names engraved on it. This became the 2023 Infinity Bottle.     If you bottle it, they will drink it… and love it.   While not exactly as well-known as #ShoelessJoe whispering “if you build it, he will come” to Ray in the #FieldOfDreams classic, we’re pretty sure someone was whispering this to #DrewStoren and #TylerClippard as they worked to create the Field of Dreams bourbon. Or maybe Drew was just hearing things.    Regardless, these two former major leaguers set an audacious goal to bring together two of America’s greatest heirlooms – baseball and bourbon.  After sharing a bottle and some laughs, we are living proof (93, to be exact) that the baseball and bourbon communities should be excited about @drinkfieldofdreams and Field of Dreams bourbon.  Listen in as these former bullpen mates and friends talk about where it started, the journey, and what’s next.  And don’t miss the last call where they share who they would like one shot to face in the batter’s box.   “This field, this game: it’s a part of our past, Ray.     063 - Whooooo is it?

    This is just a week after Episode 062 - Room 206, so we are feeling loose. There's a very thin thread of a storyline in this episode, but we do cover Kentucky Owl from Kentucky of course, Monk's Road also from Kentucky and David E. from Hershey PA. Alton and Kratt did their homework, while Kurton and DEW just interrupted the entire time. We sample a great range of flavors mixed together with plenty of sharp banter between Kurt and Kratt.     061 - Northern Taste and Lots of Travel

    Where have you fellas been? We have put on thousands of miles of travel over the past three months. We did our homework and tasted, collected, reviewed some great bourbons and other whisky and whiskey. From Berkshires in western Massachusetts to the red corn fields of Wisconsin to the shores of southern Alaska. Plus there was always time to taste Canadian, Irish, Scottish whiskies.  Southern Alaska is where we find Boatwright, a young bourbon blend featuring a bourbon from Kentucky and their own Alaskan mashbill. Its bright, young, full of wood. Then we move to the Berkshires and taste a 5 year old craft bourbon from a Real Housewife of NYC, Blue Manor. Great color, even greater taste. Get one if you can find one, they are now impossible to track down. Finally, we taste the special release bourbon from Wisconsin, J.Henry Anniversary blend. This hot as hell, cask strength bourbon is so unique with its heirloom Red Corn and special mashbill.  Plus, Kratt and Kurt actually agree on something! Maybe 3 months apart does make realize how much they are alike. Pour a glass, sit back, listen to the guys catch up after a short break and enjoy. Bourbon on!
