    934. LA Friday Diary

    The week that was: First of all we saw Heart of the Beast The Brad Pitt movie where his co-star is Odin a fiercely loyal German Shepherd (played by ex rescue pup Uber). We saw this movie 2 days ago and I still cry when I think about it. I think i started crying within the first few mins of the movie starting. If you cried in Project Hail Mary, times this one by 20. It absolutely broke me. To the point that Matt and I had a belated dinner date booked for after the movie and I was still in tears. If you’re a dog lover then this movie will bring you to your knees. The way the score carries you emotionally and the final titles song cracks you. The premise is of the story is that Brad is an ex green beret solider and Odin was his K9 solider and they retired together to live our their days in peace in the wilderness of Alaska (interesting all shot in Queenstown, NZ so it’s STUNNING). The unwavering loyalty of this pup highlights the connection between man and dog. Such a brilliant movie but I warn you, it is also a real tear jerker, even Matt had a big old cry. My Dad was a vet and we grew up literally living above the vet clinic, so animals, especially dogos have been a huge part of my life, so as soon as I got out I texted my Dad and brother (who’s spent years working in the Aussie military) saying they need to see it. Have you seen it? Let me know what you think!! After the movie we had booked a belated birthday celebration at Musso & Frank! They pulled out all the stops, cafe with candles, a birthday card and prime position in a booth! Also that cake they served us was DELISH. we of course got 2 dry gin martinis with a twist, then shared a steak, fries and broccolini. 10/10 no notes. I think I mentioned in the last LA dairy entry that we’re getting into horse riding, well today we got fitted for helmets at the LA Equestrian Centre at a ripper shop called Damoors Tack and Feed. Highly recomend if you're an LA local and into horses. That’s me for another week, no word on the audition I’ve done a bunch of call backs for, so still keeping my fingers and toes crossed.
