    Revisiting WWE RAW 2005 - Matt Hardy Invades, Attacks Edge & Shouts Out Ring Of Honor

    "RING OF HONOR!! R-O-H!!" On this episode of the DEADLOCK Podcast, we're headed back to July 11th, 2005 to re-visit this much talked about moment in wrestling history. The Edge/Matt Hardy/Lita drama is still unfolding at this time, with Matt Hardy having been released due to it all. But, on this episode of RAW, Matt Hardy is back for revenge! Matt shows up, attacks Edge during his match with Kane, and shouts "COME SEE ME AT RING OF HONOR! ROH!" into the microphone. John Cena recently joined the brand, and is already at odds with current RAW General Manager, Eric Bischoff, who looks to make an example out of Cena via Chris Jericho. This isn't the only person Jericho has a problem with, though, as Jericho interrupts Carlito's "Carlito's Cabana" talk show. They both argue over who should interview Shawn Michaels about why he attacked Hulk Hogan, but ultimately, the original wrestling-talk-show-host "Rowdy" Roddy Piper shows up to steal the spotlight, and will have HBK on his show later tonight! Speaking of Carlito, he will be defending his Intercontinental Championship against Shelton Benjamin, the man he cheated out of the championship at WWE Vengeance just a couple weeks ago. Kurt Angle hosts his Gold Medal Invitational, where "Famous Teacher Who Got Fired" Matt Striker accepts the challenge. Also, Chris Masters looks to get revenge on Tajiri for spitting green mist in his eyes, and we get our first elimination segment for the 2005 RAW Diva Search!     Revisiting WWE NXT 2010 - The Season 2 Finale!

    "We are wild...and young!" A moment in time so incredible that it has both been remembered & forgotten, and then remembered again, over the course of the last 16 years. It's time for us to head back to the world of NXT, during an era where the WWE just really wanted to make some people look really dumb on television. NXT Season 2 comes to an end here on this episode, and we get to find out who is the NEXT BREAKOUT WWE SUPERSTAR! They can only be so lucky. Not Lucky Cannon, though. Who in the end did the best keg races, and kissing, and punching a bag, and running around the ring, and cutting a promo?! Will it be Kaval, Michael McGillicutty, or Alex Riley? During the night, we are also introduced to the participants of the next season of NXT, which is an all divas season. There is so little wrestling on this show, like really none at all. We get one match, with all of the finalists in a triple-threat contest. Their job is to win the match but also impress the WWE Pros (Cody Rhodes, Zack Ryder, MVP, Kofi Kingston, Michelle McCool & Layla, Mark Henry, John Morrison, & The Miz) that are watching (kinda) on the stage. Of course, all of the losers of this season are at ringside, including Husky Harris (Bray Wyatt), Percy Watson, Eli Cottonwood, Titus O'Neil, and Lucky Cannon (?). There are some big time moments on this, including Michael McGillicutty's greatest speech of all time, and the complete disaster of a show-ending angle.     Revisiting WCW Thunder 2000 - Scott Steiner Attacks A Duck

    "I HATE DUCKS!" A moment in wrestling that everyone has seen, but very few understand the context, which brings us to watching this episode...where we get even less context. Of course, this episode has the infamous scene where Scott Steiner attacks...a duck! It's WCW Thunder from September 27th, 2000, and we are in quite an "interesting" time in WCW. Vince Russo has just won the WCW World Championship, and everyone has absolutely lost their minds. Literally everyone. From the talent, to the staff, to the announce team, especially on this episode. Most of the top guys do not want to work Thunder, so they just don't! Leaving us with shows like this. Lex Luger made his return to WCW this past Nitro, in an attempt to help Vince Russo win the World Title. He's back here on Thunder, to interrupt Jeff Jarrett, and to apologize for what he did. Jeff Jarrett isn't having any of it, until top guy General Hugh G. Rection comes out to say that he stands with Lex Luger. Team Canada's own Lance Storm attacks General Rection, which sets up our unsanctioned main event! "Above Average" Mike Sanders is here to run the show, as Vince Russo is not here. Well, he is in this town, as he does an interview with Mike Tenay later, but he just isn't at this show, like most top guys aren't. Mike Sanders & the Natural Born Thrillers look to advance in the Hardcore Title Tournament that Mike Sanders has just set up, and if they don't, they are SOL...and you know what that means. We also get some matches! Rey Mysterio Jr & Juventud Guerrera face off in the 2nd match of their Best of 5 Series, Team Canada's Jim Duggan & Elix Skipper get a tag team title match against Sean O'Haire & Mark Jindrak. The two Hardcore Title tournament matches we get are Johnny The Bull taking on Sergeant AWOL, and Reno taking on Crowbar!     "Look at that! 200 feet!" It's time to talk about the INVASION era once again! Stone Cold Steve Austin is the WWF Champion, and last week on SmackDown, he made possibly the biggest mistake of his career; he threw Kurt Angle's Olympic Gold Medals over a bridge, into the river. Stone Cold seems to be involved in a lot of these bridge angles, now that we think about it. But, now it's RAW is WAR, and Kurt Angle is out for revenge. So much so, that Kurt Angle KIDNAPS Stone Cold, and takes him to a bridge in an attempt to throw him off of it. Live. On television. While everyone else worries about that, we also have some wrestling going on! As mentioned, The Invasion is still in 'full' swing, and The Rock is the current WCW World Heavyweight Champion. On this episode of RAW in Toronto, Canada, Christian gets a chance to win the big gold! He's so confident, that he even gives Edge back the King of the Ring trophy that he's been parading around with. Former WCW Champion Booker T & the owner of WCW, Shane McMahon, take a big interest in this match, as well. Also on this episode of RAW is WAR, 1/2 of the current WWF & WCW Tag Team Champions, The Undertaker, takes on The Alliance's Test. The Dudley Boyz take on Big Show & Tajiri to find out the #1 contenders for the tag titles.     Revisiting WWE RAW 2006 - Fake Kane Confronts Real Kane

    "This Will NEVER Be Over!" We're coming up on Memorial Day, so what better way to celebrate America than by watching a Memorial Day episode of WWE Monday Night RAW?! Hooray! Of course, we are only a few weeks removed from the last episode of RAW from 2006 we watched, which means we are right in the middle of Kane's "May 19th" situation. Except this time, we finally get to find out who is behind all of the mystery & shenanigans that have been haunting Kane for weeks now. It's...himself! Masked Kane interrupts Kane's match with Shelton Benjamin, which sends Kane into a shock like he's never experienced before...and hopefully never did again! We also can't forget the big main event; Triple H takes on the 20 year old (did you know he's 20?) Kenny of the Spirit Squad! But, it's not just a regular match, it's the first ever SPIRIT JACK match, where all of the other members of the Spirit Squad (Nicky! Mikey! Johnny! Mitch!) will surround the ring, lumberjack style. Vince McMahon put this match together, after Triple H "accidentally" hit Shane McMahon with a sledgehammer a couple weeks ago, and also stopped the Spirit Squad from attacking Shawn Michaels last week. ECW is about to make it's big return to television, and ECW One Night Stand 2006 is right around the corner. Paul Heyman & Mick Foley have a face-to-face confrontation in the ring, which leads to the breaking news that RVD isn't the only person joining the ECW brand, but so is Kurt Angle!     Revisiting WWE RAW 2006 - Joey Styles QUITS, Fallout From WWE Backlash

    "I'm not good enough to call BACKLASH?!" The May 1st, 2006 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW brings us the fallout from the PPV that took place the night before, Backlash! Of course, to capitalize on the momentum of this PPV, Vince McMahon opens the show & lets everyone know that he doesn't really feel like working tonight, and he is going to let all of the members of the Spirit Squad run the show. Yes, all of them. Kenny. Johnny. Mitch. Nicky. Mikey. All of them. Of course, that comes with a lot of "interesting" matches, including John Cena defending his WWE Championship against the 20 year old Kenny. Three of the members of the Spirit Squad also very fairly put themselves in a 6-man tag against "The Odd Squad" of Eugene, Snitsky, & Goldust. Of course, that's not all the Spirit Squad does on this episode, as they decide to set their sights on the lead commentator of RAW at the time, Joey Styles. The Spirit Squad, during the live broadcast, tell Joey Styles to go backstage to have a meeting with them, where they dress him down for being bad at his job, and not having enough "spirit". This, combined with Jerry Lawler poking his buttons, sets Joey Styles off, which leads to one of the most infamous 'worked-shoot' promos in the history of WWE, leading to some very memorable lines. We also have Chris Masters' Masterlock Challenge, a Divas Cheerleader Tag Team Match involving Mickie James, Victoria, Maria, and Torrie Wilson, and the biggest match of the night; Rob Conway takes on KANE, who is being haunted by the mysterious 'May 19th' date.     "Far as I know, that's Razor Ramon!" On this edition of the DEADLOCK Podcast, we take a look back at this episode of WWF Monday Night RAW from September 30th, 1996. Everyone has been glued to their screens, waiting for the returns of Razor Ramon & Diesel to the WWF. Everyone thought they were long gone, taking over WCW as Scott Hall & Kevin Nash, but Good Ol' Jim Ross has come up with an unbelievable plan which involves bringing the very real Razor Ramon & Diesel back home. We've seen glimpses of them, and last week on RAW, JR re-introduced The Bad Guy to the WWF! It is 100% without a doubt a man named Razor Ramon. We're blessed with the in-ring return of Razor Ramon here on RAW, as well as promised an appearance by Big Daddy Cool, Diesel! Gorilla Monsoon, Jerry Lawler, Kevin Kelly, and really the entire company all have an issue with this. Gorilla Monsoon goes as far as to come out during Razor Ramon's match to tell JR that the WWF had nothing to do with this, and that this is very obviously NOT Razor Ramon or Diesel! Undertaker & Mankind are getting themselves prepared for the first ever "Buried Alive" match at In Your House, and what better way to prepare themselves than to hang around in a graveyard and mess with some dirt? Also on this episode, Stone Cold Steve Austin goes one-on-one with Jake Roberts, The Godwinns take on The Grimms, and we can't forget our huge main event!     Revisiting WWE RAW 2007 - Kevin Federline Faces John Cena

    "I'd like to formally introduce myself.." It's a new year for the WWE. In fact, it's New Year's Day! It's January 1st, 2007, and the big match going into this one is the first time encounter between John Cena, and "A-List Celebrity" Kevin Federline. Federline cost Cena a match at the Cyber Sunday PPV a couple months back, and then challenged him to this match here on the first RAW of the year. Yes, Kevin Federline made the challenge to the current WWE Champion, and he accepted. Kevin Federline isn't the only person John Cena has to worry about, though. We're less than a week away from WWE New Year's Revolution, where Cena will be defending his WWE Championship against Umaga. Not only will we see these two also go at it on this show, but Jonathan Coachman, the man in charge of RAW, puts himself, Umaga, Armando Estrada, & Johnny Nitro in a 4-on-1 handicap match against Cena as well! Speaking of New Year's Revolution, Rated RKO & D-Generation X are set to go at it after weeks of Edge & Randy Orton attacking Shawn Michaels & Triple H, as well as one of their close friends & mentors, Ric Flair. DX, of course, address this in the only way they know how. Ric Flair will also be wrestling on this show, as he teams with Carlito to take on Kenny Dykstra, who just beat Ric Flair last week, and Chris Masters, who will face Carlito at the PPV. Also on this show, Jeff Hardy faces Rob Conway in a match where Conway puts his career on the line, Melina takes on Maria, and Cryme Tyme (Shad & JTG) team with The Highlanders (Robbie & Rory McAllister) to face Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, & The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas).
