    Unto Whom Much is Given

God gives to people talents and gifts and opportunities as He sees fit.  And He holds us accountable for what we have been given, proportionately to how we have been blessed and favored.  Today, we will look briefly at some of the people in the Bible who were blessed and whether or not they rose to the level of how they had been blessed. Luke 12:47-48 KJV And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.  But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. The Eyes of the LORD

We should always bear in mind that God is keeping His eye on things.   Not just in the sense that He is a judge, but also in the sense that He is looking for opportunities to work in our lives for His glory and our salvation.  Can you think of any times that this happened with you? Proverbs 5:21 KJV For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He pondereth all his goings. Compounding Bad Decisions

King David makes a series of bad decisions, as recorded in 2 Samuel 11, and we see how these compounded decisions had an adverse impact on his family in a big way.  Do we make similar mistakes today? 2 Samuel 11:2-3 KJV And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
