  1. You Are in Good Hands with God.

You Are in Good Hands with God.

Welcome to Refinery Life Australia. “The Christ of John’s Gospel” has been our theme for the past couple of months teachings with a focus on John’s unique portrayal of the Christ. We will continue this series for a little while longer while God is holding us here. Today we are discussing, You Are in Good Hands with God. Your in good hands, this statement attracts people, because within every human there is a need and a desire for security. People want their house, their cars, and especially their lives to be protected. Jesus made a security claim for believers in John 10:28-29,  And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. The Lord gave a graphic illustration of security when He pictured the believer resting in the hands of the Heavenly Father. Yet a person is in the hands of God for more reasons than just security. Jesus’ words suggest other implications of being on God’s hands. Until next time Stay in the Blessings I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer. Theres nothing thats too hard for Him, and He can make you whole, spirit, soul and body! You’re important to God, and you’re important to us at The Refinery. When it comes to prayer, we believe that God wants to meet your needs and reveal His promises to you. Welcome to Refinery Life Australia. “The Christ of John’s Gospel” has been our theme for the past couple of months teachings with a focus on John’s unique portrayal of the Christ. We will continue this series for a little while longer while God is holding us here. Today we are discussing, The Good Shepherd. Jesus used ordinary language to describe His role. On one occasion, He said, “I am the good shepherd.”  The pastoral figure was familiar, and it communicated many awesome truths of the Master. Jesus used he word “good” with “shepherd”. In this instance the word means, attractive or virtuous. Although there were many shepherds, only Jesus deserved the name Good Shepherd. Let’s see why He deserved this name. Welcome to The Refinery. The Great Commission is for us all. Some to GO. Some to STAY. Some to PRAY. Some to SOW. When we loose focus we can sink, but Jesus is there, always ready to lift us up. Jesus walked on water and demonstrated His power as the Son of God, Jesus showed Peter that what seems impossible is possible with Faith. Impossible is possible with Jesus. YOU are CALLED with a high calling…. Being used for the Kingdom of God is a high calling and what may seem impossible to you is possible with Jesus in you. Until next time Stay in the Blessings I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. Welcome to Refinery Life Australia. “The Christ of John’s Gospel” has been our theme for the past couple of months teachings with a focus on John’s unique portrayal of the Christ. We will continue this series for a little while longer while God is holding us here. Today we are discussing, The Door. Going through the wrong door can be an embarrassing and frustrating experience. How many of us have walked into the wrong bathroom in the past, especially when we are in a different country? People go through wrong doors seeking the meaning and significance of life. Their pursuits end in frustration. But Jesus said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” Jesus claims to be the access into genuine personhood. Let’s have a look at the ways Jesus is the Door. Until next time Stay in the Blessings I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. A Conversation about Suffering.

Welcome to Refinery Life Australia. “The Christ of John’s Gospel” has been our theme for the past couple of months teachings with a focus on John’s unique portrayal of the Christ. We will continue this series for a little while longer while God is holding us here. Today we are discussing, A Conversation about Suffering. Suffering is a fact of life. Its presence is always a mystery. Once the disciples of Jesus became perplexed over the suffering of a blind man. John 9:1-2 NKJV 1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.  2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” From this episode, we get various insights into suffering. Until next time Stay in the Blessings I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. The Distinctives of Discipleship.

Welcome to Refinery Life Australia. “The Christ of John’s Gospel” is the theme we are continuing for the coming Sunday morning teachings that focus on John’s unique portrayal of the Christ. We will continue this series for a while longer. Today we are discussing, The Distinctives of Discipleship. What does it really mean to follow Jesus? Somehow in the early part of the twenty first century, people have lost sight of what it means to follow Jesus. Discipleship is linked to external observance of religion rather than a relationship experience with Jesus Christ. During Jesus’ life and ministry on earth, many people sought to follow Him. John 8:30, 30 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. Any motives moved to associate with Jesus Christ. Some were infatuated with His miracles and teachings. Others were just curious. Jesus did not want people to follow Him outside the motive of a genuine commitment. To distinguish the authentic followers, Jesus gave the distinctive qualities of a true disciple. Until next time Stay in the Blessings I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. Called With a High Calling

Welcome to The Refinery Accomplished people will tell you that goal setting is essential to achieving success in any worthy endeavour. That’s all very well, but as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ we have an opportunity to engage in goals that produce eternal fruit, and are fulfilling here, and now. We use the word goal, which doesn’t sit comfortably with me, because setting goals is not the way of God. But, hear me out… it’s the context and word used in todays key verse. The goal we are talking about is spoken about by the apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13–14 So what goal was Paul targeting? Simply put, Christian maturity. For the remainder of his life on earth, after that incredible conversion on the Road to Damascus, Paul was committed to the passionate pursuit of this singular ambition. The English Standard Version describes the goal we press toward as “the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14, ESV).  God has called all of us upward toward His heavenly kingdom through an intimate relationship with His Son. Until next time Stay in the Blessings I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word. Christ and Time.

Welcome to Refinery Life Australia. “The Christ of John’s Gospel” has been our theme for the past couple of months teachings with a focus on John’s unique portrayal of the Christ. We will continue this series for a little while longer while God is holding us here. Today we are discussing, Christ and Time. Getting the verb tenses correct when it comes to Jesus is a difficult task. You can say, “He was,” for He lives in history. You can say, He is,” because He lives today. You can say, “He will be,” as He will always exist. Jesus is eternal. Think of the bewilderment of the Jews when Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I am.” He used a striking contrast, didn’t He, “was and am. This “I am” saying gives us insight into Christ and time. Until next time Stay in the Blessings I really want to encourage you to be diligent with your Bible study time, because God has so much more for us than we can get from just going to church once or twice a week and hearing someone else talk about the Word.
